Time to clean House. Get rid of all the vermin in Congress, regardless of political offiliation.

He's had $2 million of legal fees in time to hire a lawyer. What he means is he hasn't been able to hire a lawyer since he got caught violating more ethics rules by paying his lawyers with PAC money. Hold the hearing in absentia. He can show up whenever he likes, and there's plenty of evidence to convict and impeach him.

Hey Dean don't include me in that we part. I'm not voting in these people. The intelligent voters are always victims when stupid people are allowed to vote. I suggest IQ test requirements for voters. I'm also astonished that there are some clearly biased partisan sheep who defend Rangle and then act like Republicans are the crooks. You're not serious that only the Republicans are crooks are you? If you can't see that both parties are rife with corruption then I don't want you in this country to make my life any harder. How does it feel to be a pawn Captain D?

No time, LOL, there were probably lawyers beating down his doors to get a piece of this, to make their bones, defending him.

Ethics trial? Why isn't this guy in a Federal court defending himself against criminal charges?

What does this tell you about the people and the districts he represents. Here in FL we have Corrine Brown. Same political methods, just a different gender.

Legislators? Tough to convince me that they are not just actors, and self serving drama queens.

If he's kicked out you know he will have a job at MSNBC. He could be as unpartisan as Keith Olbermann.

What!! Not enough time? He's had months to prepare. Besides, this is a hearing, he only need answer the questions honestly, and why do you need a lawyer for that? Only a politician like Rangel would need a lawyer to speak honestly.

As an african american male who grow up in a horrible crime ridden neighborhood and worked my butt off and have made something of myself, I'm sick of this behavior by black politicians. What the hell type of an example are we setting here?

This guys is a piece of work, but sadder still is the district that would re-elect a guy like this back to office. The same way Marion Barry re-elected after being arrested when he was clearly caught on survailance video. Eddie Bernice Johnson, House of Rep. busted for steering Congressional Black Caucus Foundation scholarships to her relatives and the blaming the media for the problem. Add William Jefferson and Maxine Waters to the list. Black Democratic politicians are making our black communities look bad. What are we saying here?

It's ok if you break laws, ethics rules as a black politician because you will still get re-elected because your voters are too dumb to understand what you've done wrong? Not the message our communities need to send to the doubters out there.

Blame any accusation on a racist conspiracy and then blame the media if they don't support your spin? Really, we need to make real progress and manage to make gains not on threats of racial accussations but on genuine merit and effort.

Yes, unfortunately we will always be held to a higher standard, which is exactly why we need to kick these clowns out of politics and put in youger, HONEST, politicians that have enough tact not to keep using the race card everytime something does not go their way.

agree 100%, but would change younger honest politicians to younger honest citizens. It seems once you get to be a "politician" it's downhill from there with greed and power. He is more than an embarassment to Harlem, he sends a message that Harlem doesn't care about good government or ethical individuals representing them. The only qualification is that he is black
