Military can seek death penalty for accused Fort Hood shooter

The investigating officer in the case of the accused Fort Hood shooter has recommended that the military pursue the death penalty against Maj. Nidal Hasan, according to his lawyer.

Col. James Pohl, who acted as a judging during the just completed Article 32 hearing, also recommended a general court martial for Hasan, who faces 13 counts of pre-meditated murder and 32 counts of attempted pre-meditated murder in the shootings at Fort Hood on November 5, 2009.

This man better not get the death penalty for his actions. Then he becomes a martyr in his faith. Wrong answer.

Mr Hassan needs to go the ADX Florence and given the same treatment Mr Sliverstein recieves. Save the appeals, lawyer fees, and send him were he will not see daylight or feel fresh air again for the rest of his days.

Why isnt he being tried for treason?? I would say that he deserves death, however, in his condition, the complications that would plague a parapalegic – bed sores, urinary tract infections, constipation, pneumonias... I am not against letting him suffer for the rest of his life !

Any Amry Major walking around after all those years with a Army Service Ribbon on his chest was a clear dude! Trust me, this is the kind of dude who probably got a few OER's that was decent and the military promoted him because he was Arab speaking because of our conflicts.

I have better idea, they should put him is a room and speakers in every corner, and run an audio CD of the Bible day and night. Roman 12:19-21 "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
