Remains found of missing Ohio women, boy

The week-long search for an Ohio woman, her 10-year-old son and a family
friend has ended with the discovery of their remains, Knox County Sheriff David Barber said Thursday.

The bodies of Tina Herrmann, 32, her son, Kody Maynard and friend, Stephanie Sprang, 41, were found in garbage bags in a hollow tree near Frederickton, Ohio, Barber told reporters.

The three went missing last Wednesday, along with Herrmann's 13-year-old daughter, Sarah Maynard, who was found bound and gagged in a basement over the weekend.

The owner of the residence, Matthew Hoffman, 30, was arrested on suspicion of abducting her. Hoffman provided authorities with information that led to their bodies, Barber said.

What the hell is wrong with you people? 3 people are dead. This is "breaking news" which is why it's so limited right now. I'm sure more details will come. Are you all so sick and twisted that you need to know what shape the bodies were in when they were found? Give me a break! Have some compassion.

Footnote, what do you mean you wonder if 'the daughter found earlier was involved?' Are you a complete moron? She's a 13 year old girl who is now left without her mother and brother. Idiot.

This wasn't out of the media the whole time – YOU tuned it out, Mr/Ms Righteous.

Ironic that he hid them in a hollowed out tree. He first started spying on them sitting up in a hammock in a tree across the street from their house. This world is full of FREAKAZOIDS! He'll do 20 and be back on the streets, doing it again to another innocent victim. Public hanging like some other countries do and you'll see how fast this insanity stops.

His house and the hammock were not close to the deceased family's house. It was in another community completely. About 15-20 miles away. I grow tired of the sensationalism of this story and the "we have to know every detail now" mentality. My God people, even our sheriff here in Knox County has been getting lambasted for not giving every piece of information about this case. The only people who need to know ANY information are the ones that have the authority to do something bout it! Period.

AB I agree with you about punishment. We need to make it clear to these lunatics they're either going to die or rot in jail FOREVER if they pull this crap. I'm so sick of this freaks being catered to while we sitting ducks have to either lock our kids inside or stay attached to them everywhere they go (even in our own frontyards). Kill them or throw them in a dungeon for life and maybe the ones on the outside will get the idea.
