Wikileaks promises massive new document release

The whistleblower organization WikiLeaks indicated Monday that it is preparing to release a new batch of previously classified U.S. military documents.

"Next release is 7x the size of the Iraq War Logs," the group stated via Twitter. "Intense pressure over it for months. Keep us strong."

In October, WikiLeaks released nearly 400,000 U.S. military reports about operations in Iraq. In July, it released more than 70,000 reports from the war in Afghanistan.

Pentagon spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said last month that the Defense Department has been bracing for the release of more secrets by WikiLeaks. Lapan said WikiLeaks has more Pentagon material beyond what the group's founder, Julian Assange, has admitted publicly to possessing.

The military has charged Pfc. Bradley Manning with leaking video to WikiLeaks, as well as downloading documents from military computers while he served as an intelligence analyst in Iraq. Among the documents he is alleged to have taken are 150,000 diplomatic cables. WikiLeaks has denied being in possession of those cables.

Manning is currently being held at a military jail in Quantico, Virginia.

The Stockholm Criminal Court recently issued an international arrest warrant for Assange, saying he is suspected of rape, sexual molestation and illegal use of force.

Killing him isn't the answer jim, you must be religious. He's not doing anything wrong. The real question should be what is the government trying to hide.

    Jim,

WikiLeaks is not one man. It is not one server. Killing him gains nothing. If anything it makes America look worse and him a martyr.

I like him. A man with balls for a change. Most people are too stupid to read and understand the leaked material anyway.

Everyone who agrees with Julian Assange need to prove it and hang your house keys beside the front door every time you leave the house. You wouldn't want anything in your house to be unaccessible because the rest of us have the right to go in your house.

Irene. Most people are smart enough to recognize when they are standing on the edge of darkness. You should not confuse his stupidity, treachery and greed for courage.
He will pee and sh/it his pants once his throat is hopefully slit.
As for you, you are not an American. Get out of my country.

    >> Because if you don't agree with me, the terrorists will win.
I think the terrorists already won. Bush compromised our national security by going to war with Iraq over weapons of mass destruction that did not exist. He also started Vietnam II – Afghanistan. Another "war" with no exit plan. No way to know when anything has been "won". As a result our economy is in the dumper and China almost owns us.
So what is next? We vote in a bunch of idiot Republicans whose goal is to thwart any new laws and get the president out of office. Meanwhile the Start Ratification treaty is being used as a political football even though the Pentagon thinks it is vitally important that we pass it. Total lunacy.
Enjoy your patdown or full body scan when you travel.. What is next – Anal probing??
My recommendation – Study Mandarin or vote some intelligent people into office. Not many are there right now.

Hey, everyone watch out for Jim....he is a real badass, mindless, redneck, republican that believes everything the government feeds him. Oh, and apparently he has the power to have people killed. He's real scary.

  13. Jim is an idiot

I served in the military, and it is soldiers like this Jim guy that kill innocent civilians for fun. Jim is your regular bottom of the gene pool kind of guy. He likes to hunt, watch Fox News, kill small animals with his bare hands, and pleasure himself during the bootcamp scenes of Full Metal Jacket. Jim considers himself a real tough guy, but he is probably more of a loud drunk that you can easily nudge into oncoming traffic when he gets too annoying.

@Dave, I'm glad to see there are still some decent ppl in US. I'm a polish citizen and must say that your current foreign policies are complete absurdity – both military ventures and economical moves / debt handling. And it is not my opinion only – most of Europeans thinks the same. BTW from my POV there is no difference in int. policies between GOP and Dems, maybe the Tea Party will change something?

Dave. Saddam Hussein moved his weapons of mass destruction to Syria before we invaded. He had 6 months to do it. Do you think he was stupid? Why the Hell do you think he stayed in Iraq hiding in a hole? He was hoping that after he took and got rid of the reason Bush had for invading Iraq then the international community would vindicate him. It was his only move.
The stupid person here, is you! Don't write of things you nothing about.
