Medical marijuana shops banned in parts of L.A. County

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to ban medical marijuana dispensaries in their unincorporated areas. Meanwhile, the Orange County Board of Supervisors was scheduled to vote on an identical measure also on Tuesday.

The proposals in the first and third largest counties in California would mark another setback for advocates seeking to advance marijuana into mainstream society. Earlier this month, California voters rejected a proposal to legalize the drug, though medical marijuana is legal throughout the state.

I live in Colorado, and dispensaries are becoming an integral part of the community. These scare tactics are nonsense.

This country is becoming very oppressive, why so much control and accountability and lack of respect of the common man/woman and very little accountability for the wealthy?

  6. Hello

It's sad how such a resourceful plant is kept under such strict control. Marijuana is not the problem here! It's hemp! It's what's next that scares them. What would all those textile companies do if hemp was made legal?! Go on, keep paying off the politicians. You're doing a great job.

Thats messed up.more restrictions the state n local governments enforce after they tax like crazy to run a store.then they take your money and say "oops" "sorry" "not up to code" and keep your for leagilization but not like this.whats the point in paying higher taxes when u guys(govnt) can step in anytime n change the script.i dont even want it legal no more.they cant make up there minds while taking the money.the government is bad with business.the mob doesnt even tax this high or change agreements so abruptly.they dont need our money if they choose to continue to act like this.i say marijuana belongs n should stay on the streets.good luck to all the dispensary owners!hope u know when to cash out

anyone to get busted for weed is an idiot anyways.. i've always just nutted the weed and never been caught. and when i was in my car smoking i spilled my bong once after that the k-9 unit never could get a hit, they would just go crazy all over.. 🙂

i miss my 75 cutlass it had a perfect little tray for rolling up joints and a great dope-light under the dash.. then if you got pulled over you could just lift the ashtray up and chuck the weed back under the console..

Bunch of politicians being payed off by big Tabacco and big Alcohol .If you try and cut in on their action they will step on you like one of their cigarette butts .Most if not all the dispesaries are in the middle of nowhere already .I guess the Mexican Mafia paid thes politicians money also because it was cutting in on their action also .oh well more muders and drug violence at the border .More cancer patients dying because because they took their medication away .Kind of like murder .Hope they can sleep at night .

Part of the problem is that there are too many people that are extremely ignorant about hemp.
If they made clothes with hemp you could pass them on to your children.
I would rather be in a room full of people who are high on weed any day than be with a bunch of drunks.
Wake up America, get educated, ignorance will not help this wonderful country!!!

You people are so stupid. You use weed for destructive purposes. The cancer patient has access to the same active ingredient of marijuana in pill form from a legitimate phamacy. Its against the law for any business to use the term dispensary or advertise itself as a dispensary without a state permit from the state boards. No one is producing fabric for clothing from their crop or stash. There is nothing benevolent about your use for you are dope heads financing and contributing to the thug world and thug activities who profits probally fund terrorists. So fund a severed-head-in-the-suitcase-industry. Stupid people!
