Report: Hollywood publicist's killer used hollow-point bullet

Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen's killer fired at least four shots into her car, including at least one hollow-point bullet, in last week's Beverly Hills shooting, according to a leaked coroner's report.

The three-page report has not been made public, but Los Angeles County coroner spokesman Brian Elias confirmed to CNN that a document shown in
a local newscast appeared to be authentic.

The document was written by investigators on the first day of the investigation to help the doctor who would perform the autopsy the next day, Elias said. The full autopsy report is expected to be released next week, he said.

Hollowpoints, if memory serves me, are singularly disfiguring to the target. We can infer that the shooter was motivated by a malice beyond a normal murderer's. If it was towards the victim personally, this killer shouldn't be hard to trace. If it was towards women, or a class of women, then this murder isn't the last.

The whole affair is very unusual, people use HP's for protection because they have a little more shock value but any bullet jacketed or not will kill. the there's the matter of the auto glass which sometimes deflect bullets, then the shooter ,if it was an automatic weapon he had to keep it in the car or cartridge casings would be in the street as evidence. The caliber would help narrow down these simple details.I'm surprised there's no witnesses,I used to live near there and there are always a few vehicles and cops around that area.somebody was obviously very determined, find them.

Hollow points are "controversial"? Since when?

The fact that she was shot with hollow points means absolutely nothing other than that is what the gun was loaded with. It doesn't signify that someone "really wanted her dead."

Most people who have a gun for self defense have it loaded with hollow points or something like Glaser Safety Slugs which will cause far more damage in a human body, but won't go through walls in a house.

Oh noooooo, not HOLLOW POINTS!! Are you people that clueless that you don't realize that almost every law enforcement agency in this country, local and federal carry hollowpoint ammo? Ask any gun store (outside of NJ) what ammo they sell to gun permit possesing citizens, the answer will be hollow points. Ball ammo is used for target shooting, hollowpoints are the standard for self defense carry. And would it have been any more humane if this poor woman were murdered with full metal jacket ammo? Wake up...
