   Like it or not, marijuana is still illegal. The cops, federal or otherwise, are required to enforce existing laws. Until the majority in the United States feel that pot should be legal, the cops have to do what they have to do. Even California can't seem to get enough votes to legalize pot. How much more so for Texas? Don't blame the cops. Blame your fellow citizens. BTW you can't vote the conservatives back into office like was done in the last election and expect the country to have liberal laws.

   For gods sake, its Willie, an american icon! He's done more Texas than the border patrol ever did. he's almost 89. When you walk on Willies bus, its always smelling of weed. Would you rather him be a raging drunk? probably some young skin head cop not knowing the legend of wilie> Leave him alone

   20 years or so ago his house burned down...he saved a classic guitar and 2 lbs of Columbian. Priorities. If more people smoked weed maybe the yelling from the right and the left in this country would stop because if we don't chill out we're going to break this country in two.

   Texans and Middle Easterners have much in common. They depise America as a whole, are anachronistic religious zealots, are difficult to understand and also have vast oil fields. Grant Texans their wish and allow them to secede from the US. Then invade them and take the oil.

   The devil's in the details - which we don't have yet. But come on, everybody smokes pot, many-many more than admit it to pollsters! Willie is simply one of us, relaxing with a Harmless High, keeping a low profile. Maybe in the case of Willie Nelson it's the low-profile part that got him, hmm? I shall hereby dedicate a pipeload to Sir Willie: one of us - but maybe just not as smart!

   Yes, i totally agree! alcohol kills more people a year than marijuana will in a decade! however, it's still against the law to posses marijuana so they legally have the right to arrest anyone they want with weed no matter how stupid it looks & no it makes no sense to mess with Willie Nelson! come on! go get the big guys who have other things that are more harmful! & leave people like Willie alone with their mary jane!

    Jeeze, don't these over zealous jerks have better things to do? Law enforcement needs to prioritize and stop these silly arrests (we all know you have discretionary powers). Or is the thrill they get from getting their name in the paper more appealing than doing the decent thing? Willie, of all people has had more than his share. Hey Willie! Get a sealed door and a better exhaust fan.

    As Tod said, " We have a lot of ignorant people out there". Unfortunately most of them seem to be in law enforcment, and politics. I have no respect for them at all. I heard a Chief of Police once said, "The people don't respect us", Show the people a little respect and you might be surprised at the results.I once saw a police officer let the car in front of me with a driver who was all over the road, to stopthe car tha came up behind me for speeding. I even made it a oint to go back and tell him. He said he would put it on the radio. Wonder what his IQ level is? I smoked pot for many years. I never saw anyone high in a fight, or in the emergency room for over dosing, or driving while drunk, heck all they want is to be left alone with a few snacks, and some music is nice.
