This is why America is failing – too many false icons that are actually drug abusers. Regardless of what kind of music this man makes, he is a poor role model for others if he has to do illegal things. We need to return this country to the morals that it was founded on. Faith, Flag, and Family.

Really? Seriously? You're trying to say that Mr. Nelson has done NOTHING for this country? Ever heard of Farm Aid? How about you go and ask the folks that Willie Nelson and his friends who perform to raise money to save the American farm just how little he has helped. Then ask them just how much help they get from their government, you know, that same government that takes your morals and feeds them to you mixed with agenda, politics, lies, and tops it all off with God and the American flag.

Pot is a naturally occurring plant, (hence why it's also called WEED), that is less dangerous to the body than tobacco, (which is legal), or alcohol, (which is also legal). You cannot OD on pot. You can on booze. Pot is not a dangerous drug unless you're working the late shift at the local Taco Bell and are forced to make enough food for a party of bong-hitters at 2 am.

Several of the Founding Fathers trafficked in opium. And don't give me the medicinal crap. They knew it was addictive.

so this what u saying.. if it wasnt illegal he'd be just fine as a rolemodel as all the other ones that have got caught saying inapproiate things while drunk or drinking and driving?

This country was founded on drugs. Know your history idiot. People like you only talk because you think you have the federal government backing you up. I'm sure the IRS could do a forensic audit on you (because I'm sure you kept track of all your donation & paid babysit $$ over the last few years) & then you precious feds will just throw the book at you just like they did Willie. Enough is enough!!! When we get a chance to look back at all of our mistakes it'll be written down in the history books in Chinese under the chapter "American Idiots."

This is the kind of old school American Propaganda along with movies like Reefer Madness and those ridiculous anti drug commercials with no scientific value at all. You want to talk about morals, when show me the victim of Willeis crime besides himself. willie did nothing besides become another victim to this nonsense drug war

Let me guess tadpole, I bet you are in favor of the death penalty for pot smokers...Do you speak in tongues and handle snakes in church also? Do you smoke or drink? Do you know anyone who does? Do you think there should be capital punishment for those "crimes" against the Lord?

Return this country to what it was founded on...I'm FINE with that, legalize pot and put a damper on big religions. Marijuana was legal when the country was founded, and a majority of the founding fathers were utterly disgusted by religion. Try Freedom, Pot, and a Vote that Counts next time bud.

What a joke, 440000 people die from cigarette related deaths each year, another 300000 become serious ill, smoking robs $$billions in productivity, Yet – we continue to keep pot, a far harmless sustance, illegal.
It's is so stupid, we know people can get pot anytime amd anywhere, so why not legalize it, control it, make safe to buy, tax it, unclog the courts and jails with pot related cases???

Why not? Because ware e dumb, narrow minded, God induced people, Poloticians won't touch it.

    Hwy 183
    Shot gunned in Cedar Park
    Bare footed in the dark
    Have a heart
    Cast a spark
    Light up and
    Leave your shadow
    To cling in austin
    No chasm
    Left behind

I have never smoked pot, but have drunk up a storm for most of my adult life. I consider pot smoking to be much less harmful than drinking as my kids smoke and never have got as messed up as me on occasion. Don't get me wrong, I don't spend my life drunk, I am a professional businessman, but I do know that I release the stress of business with a drink and I have family and friends that prefer a toke. What the heck it is no big deal and the fact that Willie was busted for having weed is absolutely ridiculous. The good he did with Farm Aid and the millions he has raised for charity gives him the right to a pass. To heck with the law. My kids can get weed whenever they want and we live in a "Nice neighborhood". This is a total waste of valuable resourses which could be spent on the real issues of law enforcement. One of my neighbors is a Supervisor for one of the major alphabet soup agencies and even he thinks this law is stupid.

i understand they were doing there job and they probably would have gotten in trouble if they haven't had arrested him, but this not the officers fault nor willies, i understand there will always be people that think pot is just as bad as any other drug but it really isn't. I'm not gonna say everyone needs to smoke pot because not everyone really needs to but seriously just legalize it already it's just pot. All you have to do to make it safely legal is to put limitations on when you can use it jur like alcohol such as don't smoke and drive and don't come to work or school high. I honestly don't know if it will ever be legalized but it should because it's just pot. And by the way i don't smoke pot to all of you who think just pot heads want it legalized i just have common sense

as my senator is forced to reckon with packed prisons and drugwar mayhem, i hope my fuzzy face keeps imaging up in his head. ive been trying to tell him for 30 yrs how evil the war on drugs was. the sensible way forward is safer, pharm rec drugs. it makes more sense than snorting lithium batteries..law-enforcements feeding frenzy is hopefully coming to an end. all the cops are going to jail. i like it..
