Singer Willie Nelson arrested on pot charges

Country singer Willie Nelson was arrested Friday on charges of marijuana possession by the U.S. Border Patrol in Sierra Blanca, Texas, CNN has confirmed.

No further details were available, and a message left for Nelson's publicist has not been returned.

    Well thank god our streets are safe now that Willie has been harassed by the cops for smoking a joint. The war on drugs is a failure.

      Has anyone met people that smoke weed on a daily basis??? They are unabitious and lazy. They turn weird over time and all they care about is getting high. Drinking has its own problems but pot heads are noticeabley different in society!!

      So jmusk your saying im lazy and unambitious since i smoke pot almost daily but yet i finished first in my class in HS and just graduated college from UW-Madison with a 3.8 GPA...lol get out and meet more people man cuz your stuck in your isolated little town or life or something

    Most pathetic part of all this is, the big eared, inbred, dumb as a stump good ole boy TX cops think they actually accomplished something important... and of course all it proves is how stupid they are, and their total lack of common sense. Meanwhile, border crime continues out of control... but by God they arrested Willie for pot! Dang good job there Bubba! Idiots.

      Don't denigrate Texas cops. It's the legislature that won't change the pot laws because of the opinion of a majority of Texas voters. I am in Texas and although I don't use I am for the legalization of pot. Maybe we should arrest all of the border patrol officers for not apprehending illegals.....isn't that their job?

    Weed isn't a bad drug and the same applies to alcohol, but now if you abuse them then yes they become dangerous. I don't see why you can't smoke a joint a night after a long hard day at work to relax and or maybe just have it restricted to your home or just make it legal in a few states. I believe people should be allowed to do anything in their own home. Above all else let Willie go.. for Christ's sake he's old, he doesn't have long before he's out the door. Anyway I guess if pot is all ones life revolves around then one might consider moving to Amsterdamn.
