Willie Nelson arrested on possession of marijuana? I'm shocked!

As an American living permanently in the Netherlands I find these stories amusing.

Just let him go. This is just ridiculous. I don't know why this country even bothers with this anymore. We have bigger problems than some old guy smoking pot.

The man broke the law. Plain and simple. Yes, he has paid his dues "in the past", but you know what??? You have to pay your dues EVERY TIME you break the law. If someone gets arrested for shoplifting..........they get arrested everytime they shoplift. Not just the first time. You all know this. Should pot be legal? Perhaps – but right now it's not. I can't believe so many people here say "leave him alone". He's a tax evading, pot smoking, law breaking loser. Why leave him alone, because he is a celebrity? Give me a break.

Oh my God, they can't arrest the illegals and drug lords, but,, they arrest Willie Nelson !! I am closer to Willies age and have never smoked pot, but, this country needs to legalize marijuana and get on to protecting the countrys borders. Willie is an American icon, one of the greatest talents, he has done an enormous amount of good to help people, to help the farmers and we arrest him? Ridiculous and stupid.

You know, I'm not a pot smoker, but if I were 100 years old, like Willie Nelson, I think I would have earned the right to smoke whatever I wanted.

What nonsense is this? Why are our "authorities" wasting time chasing down aging country icons for pot possession? When you consider the state of our country; the never ending recession, threats of terrorism, two full blown wars, the border war with Mexico, skyrocketing unemployment, our states facing financial ruin and the list just goes on, you would think we would have a sharper focus on what is important. I will rest easier now though, knowing they got Willie off the streets.

Leave Willie alone, so he smokes pot. Some people blow up building and planes, go after them.

Once again, our law enforcement is reaching for the low-hanging fruit.

We have become a nation governed by fools.

Legalize it to make space in our over crowded prisons and tax it to get us out of our budget shortcomings already!

First, this is not news. Willie Nelson has never hidden the fact that he smokes marijuana. Second, did he invade a foreign nation, kill the president of that country, water board anyone, or did he just write music, raise money for Farm Aid, invest money to create bio-fuels, and just hang with his friends. If you make it legal, what will the reports write about? I know, America invaded another country, film at 11:00 PM.

Absolutely ridiculous. This is very damaging to the image of border patrol agents and I have lost all respect for them. They obviously don’t care about real criminal activity and are just putting in time to collect a pay check.

They must have busted him moving the twenty tons of grass found in that underground tunnel earlier in the week. Fortunately for Willie, twenty tons still may only be considered "for personal use."

"Pot has basically the same effect as alcohol, with more carcinogens. You are dreaming that life would be better with pot vs. drink. Same effect, different stupiding agent." -Calvin

wow. Congrats man. Thanks for being like most ignorant people by not actually looking at the facts and stats. There is a US study, the longest in history spanning 20 years of cannabis use with 25,000 patients, that stats the REAL facts about cannabis use. Turns out its not at all what you say. No it is not like alcohol. Yes it is a drug, and as the individual user, its effects will be different for all. Carl Sagan to Einstein smoked Cannabis and many smart minds in between. There are other ways to not get the leaf material in your body by combustion. A vaporizer or eatables are a great way to ingest cannabis without ANY of the negative effects of unusable leaf material.

You are flat out wrong Calvin. Wake up!
