Country singer Willie Nelson was arrested Friday on charges of marijuana possession by the U.S. Border Patrol in Sierra Blanca, Texas, CNN has confirmed.
No further details were available, and a message left for Nelson's publicist has not been returned.
more proof that america is now the stupidest country on the planet
vard is an idiot who nobody likes.
Willie Nelson has raised more money for financially distressed farmers and the like. I wonder how many farms the aressting officer has saved.
arresting officer ... typo
I think you mean COPS (Criminals On Public Salary)
Vard is a re vard. welcome to the real world. guy are you for real?? if you don't get down with the herbal remedy that is fine. point being pot should not be a crime. what did a pothead ever do 2 u?? eat your last slice of pizza? i ignorant idiots like you. If this is your comment i hope you get a jay walking ticket. i mean its law
He looks like a doper, acts like a doper, soooo.... what do you expect from a doper?
I expect nothing more than any other person that has a brain. Everyone has their vice. Some, it's alcohol. For a large and ever-growing number of voters like myself, we prefer something a bit more safer for our bodies.
You are retired military? I have the utmost respect for you. ...but, I pity your for all of the force-fed propaganda you've grown to believe.
Leave Willie alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would say: Free Willie!
And the mind of man said, " let there be weed" and there was an abundance.....don't fear the reefer....
The word, "dope" is so 80's. It's now referred to "medicine". Just move to Colorado, or California, or any other state that is forging change.
Just remember- It used to be illegal for women to vote...and blacks to sit on the same bus as whites. Welcome to the every-changing world.
This whole scene is just so damned stupid! Willie is an American icon - nobody is going to change him. And most of us don't even want to! I don't smoke pot, but if it works for him, fine. He is a very peace-loving person, never violent. I say, "Leave the guy alone, and let him make his music." Music is what he does! He does not preach any lifestyle; he just lives and lets live, which is what we all should do. It surely does look like some small town wannabe tried to make a name for himself, doesn't it? And he did - the name is "Incredibly stupid."
Just think...if pot were legalized the money would help lower the national debt. I've never smoked it and neither have lots of other people I know but, we all agree LEGALIZE IT. This is just like Prohibition it didn't work then & it won't work now.
Willie caught with weed, wow what a wonder. Fed dollars at work.
Cocopuf: Your mom and step dad just called from their tparty meeting to remind you that you have a spelling test tomorrow and no extension on your 9 o'clock bedtime . . time to sign off now
If pot is legalized, what all these legions of policemen, who would loose their jobs, suppose to do? Smoke pot? And we shouldn't even signup for the science olympics anymore because it is embaracement already. Let's just admit that the azians better at this.
And they call this news?
Willie’s Contraband (No Jane No Pain) Blues
by Lefty Farkleberry
Willie was a-rollin’ ’long out from El Paso
down some dusty country track.
Honeysuckle, she was tuned and hummin’,
he had some ditch weed in his sack.
The Border Guards, a-swoopin’ hard they came
with dogs and laws in hand,
Politely asked, what on earth’s that smell,
Could they search for contraband?
Next time he visits Hudspeth County,
There’ll be no giggle-grass.
Stayin’: neat ’n’ tidy ’long the course,
Straight-arrow, he’ll drive past.
That’s how Nelson came upon this gentle township,
To plea his case before the Judge.
She’d said: Here, there ain’t no ‘j’ in Justice,
No ‘Texas tea,’ or doin’ ‘doobage.’
Turns out the Prosecutin’ man was fair enough
enforcing Texas rule—
seems C.R. had an ear for music,
Liked his strummin’ country school.
Again, Willie’d see the open road—
ashamed—yes, lighter monetarily,
Just one hundred bucks and one quick verse—
such Texas hospitality.
……Hoped, Hudspeth would enjoy,
“Blue Eyes…in the Rain”—
“Trigger” thought that was inspired—and
they’d accept his check writ on a Zig-Zag,
Wheat-straw papers yet un-fired.
Next time Willie visits Hudspeth,
He won’t be holdin’ any, jane—
‘cause the County’s strict con-sider-ation
Won’t be so ea-sil-y detained……
Willie, know what they say?—no jane no pain.
