The first time I've been genuinely upset by the passing of a famous person in a long while. RIP Good Sir.

You might not recognize him in his starring role as the Commander in the Sci-Fi classic "Forbidden Planet". A serious role that he played well. The movie still shows well today, years ahead of it's time back then...

This is sad news. Nielsen was a great comedian and was inspirational for comic actors that came after him. The Naked Gun movies and Airplane are classics that never go out of style. Leslie will be missed!

For all his great comedic roles, I also fondly remember Leslie Nielsen as the captain of the spaceship in Forbidden Planet. One of my all time favorite movies with a great all-around actor.

Everyone seems to forget that he was a real bad guy in movies when he started. That is why I laughed when he showed up in "Airplane."
