Fire set at Oregon mosque attended by bomb plot suspect

The FBI announced a $10,000 reward Sunday for information leading to the arrest of  the person or people responsible for an apparent attack on an Oregon Islamic center.

The center was was attended by the man authorities say was behind a foiled bomb plot at a recent Portland Christmas tree lighting.

A fire appears to have started sometime early Sunday morning at the Salman AlFarisi Islamic Center in Corvallis, Oregon, authorities said. The building suffered some fire and smoke damage.

Mohamed Osman Mohamud, who was arrested in connection with the plan to detonate what he thought was an explosives-laden van at a Portland tree-lighting ceremony Friday night, occasionally attended the center, the mosque's imam told CNN.

Great, You applaud whoever burned the mosque. I'm sure someone else will applaud acts against non-Muslim targets in the US. Then we can go round and round applauding while both Muslim and non-Muslim targets get attacked.

I am glad the wannabe terrorist got caught. I'm even happier that we Oregonians got a tiny taste of what could happen if a determined homicide bomber could do. Terorrism is real and it is possible that it could happen right here in Oregon. All illusions of this "happening somewhere else but not here." has been been proven wrong and very dangerous. Thanks and Kudos to the FBI and other agencies that caught this person. Be glad that they did. If they hadn't, folks would still be cleaning up body parts.

So, committing a felony (arson) is OK, even though it put the lives of firefighters at risk? I don't think so. The arsonist(s) should be prosecuted to the fullest extent and do hard time. Torching a mosque doesn't kill an idea. This only helps the terrorists convince people that America is hostile to Islam. Burning a mosque helps terrorists recruit. It was a dumb move, and a very un-American one.

Yes, of course, whatever you say Mehdi. Now go to the pouch your nurse and mama got for you. Find the green little pill box, and take 2 pills, OK? The doctor will see you in the morning. Thank you Mehdi.

@cesar lets just start burning, looting and killing every group that may have ties to an individual. any organized religous group could be blamed, but should we hate them all because of actions done by a few?

@Tomcat. As I said, I'm glad no one got hurt at this Muslim place of prayer. And that of course would include innocent Muslims that have nothing to do with this potential 19 year old murderer want to be. I only hope he heard of this fire and realizes that it is mainly his fault. Tomcat, its called cause and affect. You're no dummy. I've read your posts. You know the concept here.

Maybe you're being a bit hard on the beaver. Haha.. Seriously I'm going to the Columbine kids parent's homes to burn em down. I think they are just as guilty of murder as the kids who did the shooting.

@Protoman. Your sarcasm is deafening. But how can you equate high school kids in need of counseling to a terrorist? I don't get it.

because a terrorist causes fear in people. they did. look at all the things in place in schools now, including drills in case a shooter shows up. (kids now have to learn how to turn a desk upside down and where to be if a shooter comes in) this was not inplace before '99.

You idiot's should really Dig yourselves!
With all the things going wrong in this country,it seems the only answer to some,is simple destruction,
Why should harm come to the innocent because they can't control a few of the radicals??
The thought scares me only in that, that would mean other countries can target me because of the way republicans govern??

They both were programmed to hate and kill. It's the same. Young people who kill have had many adults fail them. I would start charging parents. Was my point. I'm tired of young people being fed bs their entire lives then society acts all surprised when we have a bunch of psychotics running around.
