Source: Poll finds most troops OK with repeal of 'don't ask'

A majority of U.S. service members surveyed do not care if the law banning openly gay and lesbian troops from serving is repealed, according to a source knowledgeable with the results of the Pentagon study.

Members of Congress are to get an advance look at the study Tuesday.

    Here's one gay who's waiting anxiously... please hurry with this issue. I would love nothing more than to serve my country; I hate retail and want meaning in my life. Of course, my student loans would also appreciate your speedy removal of the DADT 🙂

    No it's more basic than that. What they want is to be able to serve in the military without having to lie on a daily basis about who they are. And I'll bet you a dollar that the survey reveals that the soldiers don't really give a damn who the guys they serve with sleep with once they are back state side as long as they are there when the shot hits the fan. This is an issue for the republicans back home to try and regain thier standing with the religious right who abandoned them during the last two election cycles after they realized the promise they made about creating the theocracy in the US was empty unless the church gathered more money than the military industrial complex...the republicans real god.

      Nah, they really don't care about the military anymore either. Poor equipment, slashed veteran benefits. It's plainly obvious they only care about their boys in office.

    @Mike,
    An obviously inflammatory statement. Everyone knows Navy is home of the gays as evidenced by the song YMCA.

    Here we go again. The men and women in the military really are the ones that can comment on this. If your not in the military then I don't think it's any of our business. To me this entire issue is just plain silly.

      I pay for the military therefore I can comment. Repealing DODT is the correct and fair thing to do. I support it 100%!

  10. What's that?

    Most people polled also refuse to accept Obama Care and want it appealed. If we're going to say attention to what the majority wants are we going to listen to them on that as well?

      The only lie is the one your telling yourself, people don't have time for oppression. So they don't really care. It's time to repeal.
