A majority of U.S. service members surveyed do not care if the law banning openly gay and lesbian troops from serving is repealed, according to a source knowledgeable with the results of the Pentagon study.
Members of Congress are to get an advance look at the study Tuesday.
Here's one gay who's waiting anxiously... please hurry with this issue. I would love nothing more than to serve my country; I hate retail and want meaning in my life. Of course, my student loans would also appreciate your speedy removal of the DADT 🙂
@wf,
When you look in the mirror you are looking at god so judge yourself fruitcake.
No it's more basic than that. What they want is to be able to serve in the military without having to lie on a daily basis about who they are. And I'll bet you a dollar that the survey reveals that the soldiers don't really give a damn who the guys they serve with sleep with once they are back state side as long as they are there when the shot hits the fan. This is an issue for the republicans back home to try and regain thier standing with the religious right who abandoned them during the last two election cycles after they realized the promise they made about creating the theocracy in the US was empty unless the church gathered more money than the military industrial complex...the republicans real god.
Nah, they really don't care about the military anymore either. Poor equipment, slashed veteran benefits. It's plainly obvious they only care about their boys in office.
and God or his Son would approve of such hatred? i thought sins would be forgiven. if that is not the case everyone here will be dancing with the devil.
@Mike,
An obviously inflammatory statement. Everyone knows Navy is home of the gays as evidenced by the song YMCA.
Has anyone taken into consideration what will happen to boot camp?
Nothing
What will happen to boot camp? Will it become "flip-flop" camp?
Let the packing of fudge begin!
Straight people pack fudge too! You are incredably ignorant!
Here we go again. The men and women in the military really are the ones that can comment on this. If your not in the military then I don't think it's any of our business. To me this entire issue is just plain silly.
I pay for the military therefore I can comment. Repealing DODT is the correct and fair thing to do. I support it 100%!
Its sad to me to see that people (@wf)have to bring god in to this ? First of all don't jude, who are you to jude ? god is the god of love there is not a drop of hate in him, why can't we all be equal ? We all deserve the same rights ! There fighting for our freedom !! Isn't that enough !?
Most people polled also refuse to accept Obama Care and want it appealed. If we're going to say attention to what the majority wants are we going to listen to them on that as well?
This is a LIE !!!! The Majority of the Military are against repealing DADT !!!
Hate to break it to you, but they really are for the repeal. Guess you'll just have to adapt.
The only lie is the one your telling yourself, people don't have time for oppression. So they don't really care. It's time to repeal.
This is the second step in making sure that Gay marriage will be legal under federal law.
wait, what about the rights of the ten retarded white trash rednecks? who's got their back?
this is a disaster.
And yet, this fool, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council said on " Hardbal' l last night that the majority of the active military were against it. they are in lala land and say whatever they want.
Just another atempt at eroding away morality! I'm not ok with it.
I agree. And I served for over 6 years
