    Make Afghanistan the 51'st State.
    The 320 million dollar a day taxpayer give away would not seem so onerous if A-stan was a state. Here's why;
    1)We would gain a culturaly rich and diverse society to integrate into our own.
    2)A highly skilled and motivated workforce that could be put to work right away manufacturing things.
    3)Rare earth minerals.
    4)A permanent military base close to other potential states.

    Although I have been reduced to sleeping outdoors (Brrr) and taking bird baths in public restrooms I am most definitely enjoying unemployment.
    The reason it is so fun? I get to have my share of the American Dream by posting on CNN.
    Am I unemployable? Probably.
    Am I bitter? No.

    There is some merit to what Bob proposes. However, the complications would be abundant. Aside from the culture as well as the government differences, their rich minerals estimated by the media at over 1 trillion dollars would be, as Bob mentions a nice tax base.
