Will alleged Juarez hitman face justice?
The Mexican government says Arturos Gallegos Castrellon is responsible for 80 percent of the murders in Juarez, Mexico, since August 2009. That's more than 2,000 people. Among them were a pregnant employee at the U.S. Consulate and her husband, who were gunned down last year.Â Police said Gallegos confessed to ordering those killings. The alleged cartel hitman is now in police custody, but as CNN's Ed Lavandera reports, some fearÂ Gallegos will never be convicted of murder.
Shackled teen's pleas for help caught on tape
Every now and then a story comes in that is truly stranger than fiction. Last December a California teenager was discovered roaming through his suburban neighborhood, bruised and battered and wearing nothing but boxer shorts and broken shackles. The boy claimed he had been chained up and tortured for more than a year. New surveillance video shows the boy pleading for help with employees at a local gym minutes after he reportedly used a trampoline to jump over his captor's backyard fence. Four people have been charged with torture, false imprisonment and child abuse in the case.
