A Florida judge sentenced former New York Yankees catcher Jim Leyritz to a year on probation Thursday for driving under the influence in a fatal 2007 wreck.
A south Florida jury found Leyritz guilty of driving drunk in November but he was acquitted of a more serious charge of manslaughter.
Jerry- regardless of the facts that both may been drunk is in no way a justification to minimize a person's guilt. Either should have not been drinking and driving, but the diiference was that one died as a result. If you had a family member who was drunk, and was killed by another drunken driver while driving home, would you simply say 'oh well'? I don't believe you would.
@really really dont understaqnd your reply
all the justice you can afford... Thats what my dad always told me.
why should he be special? Oh!!!! that's right he has the $$$$$$$$$$$
when i drink and drive i drive 2x as fast that way im off the road 2x as quick. it's much safer that way.
a quick tip..take some garbage bags with you if your going out drinking and driving.. you can put them over your seats so when you pee you pants or barf they dont get as dirty..
The jury felt she ran a red light, so why would Leyritz be at fault for the death?
