Obama makes unannounced visit to Afghanistan

President Barack Obama arrived in Afghanistan on Friday on a surprise visit.

The president is expected to address troops at Bagram Airfield.

A major U.S. military review of the war in Afghanistan is due this month, a year after Obama ordered additional U.S. troops to the country as part of a strategy that would see some forces coming home as soon as July 2011.

He needs to keep his useless azz in Washington instead of spending untold millions of $ jetting around the world for yet another photo op. Just how many trips is that now?. 3 to the Gulf coast, plus Moochelle and her entourage in Spain, and again to France, or was it Portugal? Don't forget the family vacations! GEEZ! Does he ever stay in DC and do his job? What about all this politicking for the Dems? STOP IT!

It's called diplomacy..if that Bush guy would have tried it more instead of staycations in Crawford, maybe we wouldnt be in this mess. Most Americans havent even traveled to another country, so at least he's giving Americans a glance at other countries...Also, since we're in a war over there and Americans are losing lives by the dozens, its the right thing to do for the troops and our allies...That is how we run a gov't, my friend not by hiding under the covers..

That shows how smart you are, what do you think Air Force 1 is? The military are important to us, unless you never served your country USA.
As one of the congress persons stated in chambers S.T.F.U. Thank you

i don't see how you can compare a trip to afganistan with a trip to spain. yes, he may have been looking for another photo op, but he raised alot of morale with those soldiers over there today. my husband is on his 3rd overseas tour, and he happened to shake the presidents hand today. and when he called me afterwards i haven't heard him so happy in the 7 months he's been over there. my husband is with the 101st and they have lost many, many good soldiers since they've been there, they all needed a raise in morale, and this did it. good spirits keep soldiers alive. i want to say thank you to the president, even if he was looking for it to benefit him, it did a good thing for the soldiers.

Your'e absolutely right, what is this Presidents problem with staying in D.C?
Can someone answer that question? He needs to stay in D.C. and find out what
Rat Hole 800 Billion Dollars went down and where are all the jobs it was supposed to create are.The troops in Afganistan are no better off with him visiting them.We have 29 million Americans out of work.My health care premeium went up at work so next year I will have less money every week to spend on my family, another Obama health care lie.Everything seems to be going to hell at the same time.I am down to a total of 6 dollars in 2 checking acounts and 60 dollars in 1 savings account until my next paycheck,If I hear Obama playing basketball again instead of working 24/7 on solving the country problems I will stand outside the front door of my house and scream "I am mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more".

Frank, why aren't you working 24/7 trying to earn more money instead of waiting for the President to find some way to do it for you? About Basketball, everyone needs a break. People will perform poorly if they don't. Let him play and unwind a little. Lastly, I don't know where you get your internet connection from but you can save money by using it at the library, if you don't already, instead of paying for it for your home. That's probably a good $60 right there.

If it were George W. Bush, you'd be praising him. Troops appreciate a visit from the Commander-in-Chief. God bless the brave men and women of our military and our President. Bravo, Mr. Obama!

What I want to know is how he has done anything to better our country. His health care plan was a bust, cutting tax revenue has not gone anywhere, and the biggest decision he seems to have made is getting a dog for the White House. I appreciate Obama visiting our troops and showing his support, but I think I would rather see him at home trying to do his job. And for all you people bringing up Bush, yes he was not the greatest president, but you can not keep using him to make Obama look better. Obama is the president now not Bush.

People who are unaware of their surroundings and predicament can't see beyond to help themselves. Those who can feel an obligation to pull their fellow man out of the much and mire. I know it feels intrusive, but we will not appologize. Because love means never having to say your sorry. When the person finds their feet again they just understand what had to be done. And then they do it for somebody else and so on.

How repulsive! This bozo will do anything to make himself look good. In fact,if it hadn't been for George W.Bush and his father, he undoubtedly would be the worst president we ever had!!! What a letdown.
