Bring them all home. We lost all moral ground by allowing Palestine to suffer so long. Bid Ladins want us to stay so we will suffer in all areas, especially economically. Dont make him happy, come home!

I think the war should be front page everyday, this war is one that will never be won, all we talk about it taxes, jobs lost, nothing about our boys being killed in a war that the American people do not even know or care that we are in. We are watching football, going to the mall, we are not in this war as a country, bring them home.

There is only one Afghanistan. And perhaps it should be Iran nuking the US and Israel, not the US nuking Afghanistan.

this is a niive response. the difference is that christiany was reformed during the European Renaissance but Islam seems immune to reform due to the diligent preservence of its original sources (qura'an and sunnah), within which, lies the roots of stagnation, dictatorship and failure.

What money? You think it is a profitable venture, and that is why the government is keeping them there? Actually it's quite costly.

It's costly to the country as a whole, but quite profitable for the arms manufacturers and contractors who weild tremendous influence in Washington.

profitable to the war dogs, not to American public. Every time a bomb explodes or missle is launched, somebody makes a few thousand dollars. these bombs creates no new wealth or circulate in the economy. just creates victims who will hate us more and more. Not the way to spend our money or help bring the muslims along to the 21st century.

@mo But when we leave and let the inncoent Afghans fight the Taliban without our support even more people will turn against us, remember the first Gulf War? We left the Iraqis unsupported to fight, that went over real well?!

@Mark - I'm sorry, but you can't just go and kill a 100,000 people in a country and then turn around and say ohh...let's do over and be friends. we allowed ourselves to be dragged and fooled into creating this quagmuire and now we are living with the consequences, wheather it is these poor dead soldiers and their grieving families, or the economic hardships at home.

Don't bring us home! I think it is easy for people to say "send the troops home" or "nuke em" ... well then that would put shame to the men and women who have died in Afghanistan. We are trying to not only wipe out a terrorist regime, but also secure a country and bring basic rights to an oppressed population. We didnt volunteer in the military not knowing there would be risks. We are here taking risks and doing what we are trained to do. If we leave now it was all for nothing.

Thank you for sharing your side of this with us. We need to stand by our military – they know what they're doing and we need to trust in you. God bless you and all your fellow soldiers. Come home safe.

@ all the morons calling Muslims violent. Islam means to submit... the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful. The biggest problem is, that we continue to insult this religion without basis. Focus on the BIG PROBLEM, like (oh I don't know) the RADICAL few that mis-interpret the texts of the Qur'an.

We're fighting a war we can't win... we're wasting lives and creating a society of young men who never will recover from the trauma of war. Lets focus on that for a change!

The bible warned of the snake in the garden of eden that uses lies and deceit to drive wedges between people. The forbidden fruit was not an apple, but it was the lies being told us. Many people who follow all religions somehow ignore what the religion teaches us. Bin Laden is the snake , but so are many other leaders. It's the duty of all men and women to know when they are being played under the guise of freedom or God. If Muslims know that killing is wrong then they should ignore the call to Jihad, just as Christians must ignore the call to crusade. We beat the serpent by loving each other in the times we are tempted to seek reckoning. I believe a time will come when the puppets of evil and their puppet master will face their judgment. We were given a garden by God and we're turning it into a ball of feces. I am a non christian believer. I don't believe god wants us to "submit". I believe God wants us to stand. Submission is often brought about by pain and pain is the Devil's realm. Just a thought.

It’s not about winning the war in Afghanistan that is important. The Taliban are a collective based on their interpretation of Islam or the effect which defines their ideology. There really has not been an organized government or empire that has ever managed to defeat an ideology. The Taliban in due course of time will lead to their own destruction of their faith. They just need a little time.
Now when it comes to actually winning in Afghanistan? That’s another story. The leaders of the US Coalition forces want to negotiate with the Taliban and again this will not happen. In the eyes of the Taliban, the Coalition forces have not yet earned the right to negotiate with the Taliban. As they see it, they are the victors here, not us.
I am a disable vet and I can tell you from my vast experience on the subject of Afghanistan that we will not win and it is not because we can’t,, it is because we are not fighting this war the right way.

As a Vietnam veteran I can tell you all that we are not winning any wars nor are those men and women dieing for our freedom. They are dying sensless deaths for the politicians in this country who believe that one day those countries will become a democracy. Get real. When the dust settles no one will really care and all those lives will mean nothing. Does it ring a bell people? Our politicians are bringing this country to it's knees, millions of people are out of work, we are going broke fighting sensless wars and people are dying in this country due to no health coverage. We lost in Vietnam and we are losing these wars. Wake up America.

Defeated? I'm sure the the troops will appreciate that, make sure you say that to them when you see one. "Thank you for your service although you were defeated". A war of occupation is never won overnight. Unbelievable.
