Airport security finds ammunition in Don King's luggage

Security officials found ammunition in the carry-on luggage of boxing promoter Don King as he headed out of Cleveland, Ohio, after attending his wife's funeral, an airport spokeswoman said Monday.

The incident took place at Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport Sunday night, said spokeswoman Jackie Mayo.

"He was stopped at a security checkpoint and ammunition was found in his carry-on luggage," she said.

As much money as Don king has earned over the years thru hard work an effort you would think he could afford to fly private.
He is probably just trying to be conservative and set a good example.

Set a good EXAMPLE by flying with an ammunition? Wow maybe for Terrorist! Don't forget you are living in the USA everyone should follow the laws. Who cares how rich or powerful you are. If you don't like it, go to Kenya they let you do anything with your $$$$$.

great coverage/ howwever I feel british politeness, always leaves a fence rider to make his own verdict, whereas, dont be afraid to say the aabsolute salty truth has more of a reader impact, even if it is enclosed in a few chuckles. the students may have a cause, but where is the spokesman who spreads his staff and calms the oceans. the teachers, themselves may indeed be provoking this exercise. because loss of jobs. cover all the interview scenes, come up with a culprit or a leader. barbie camera chest/

    People of the United States,
I would make book that to Don Kings way of thinking,if he was not carrying a gun to go along with the ammunition, then there should be no problem of bringing it on board with his carry on luggage

That's how a lot of people would think, particularly older people. Mostly they're right, but it's obvious why the behavior is banned.

IMHO, the best thing to do is gently scold the passenger and insist that s/he put the ammo in his/her checked baggage.

Wow. Don King hard working? Some of you are so blinded by celebrity it's amazing. Didn't he ruin boxing by being a leech?

I don't know Don King, but the story says he was coming from his wife's funeral. Could it not be that the man was under some stress & just forgot he had some rounds in his bag? He did not have a gun to use the ammo, why is this even a story?

Just an example that the "pointless over intrusive" TSO screening does haveb a point – doesn't matter if you are a celeb or dressed as a nun or in a wheelchair, you don't get exempted. TSO just needs tact in doing it.

'Caue the TSA is desperate to show us that they've caught something, anything! The fact that this incident is paltry and hardly worthy of notice doesn't matter. There are enough histrionic anti-gun sissies in this country for the TSA to make a little hay on this non-event.

You mean it was just rolling around in the bottom of his bag, not stuffed in his soggy depends? Gee TSA – I think you should root around in the old duffer's nether-regions, just to be certain. Did you manage to confiscate his preparation H, mouth wash, denture cream, shampoo and pepto-bismol? I hope he didn't get off Scott-free with his nail clippers!

Our tax dollars are paying for this farce. Congress, Judges, DAs, anybody, please, please, please make it stop.
