Four bodies found near New York beach

Police, who were searching for a missing person, found four bodies near a beach in Long Island, New York.

The bodies could have been in the area for as long as a month, police said.

Officers were searching for Shannon Gilbert, a 24-year-old New Jersey woman who was reported missing, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

The bodies were strewn around about a quarter-mile stretch of Oak Beach, police said.

      It's "Bush's", not "Bushes". The poster below was correct...Bush took your intellect and destroyed the country. He's a busy fella, eh?

      Bush's fault was my first guess. Don't like it, blame Hussein O'Bummer...

    In case anyone cares;
    Long Island is made up of the Buroughs of Brooklyn,Queens, then Counties of Nassau an Suffolk and is around 120 mile long and about 20 miles wide and has millions of people on it.It has the highest tax rates in the country based on income and traffic on a bad day if you live in Nassau,it could take 2 hours to get into NYC which is just about an island it self.

      To be totally accurate: Westchester County, N.Y., has the highest property taxes of all 792 high-population counties (65,000 and up) in the United States. The median of $9,044 is more than four times the national median, although Westchester ranks only seventh nationally for taxes as a percentage of income at 8.24%.

      Brooklyn and Queens are NOT part of Long Island ...

      Technically, Queens and Brooklyn are ON Long Island, but those of us living in the area would never refer to something happening in either of those boroughs as happening in Long Island. Long Island is most often used to refer to Nassau/Suffolk counties.

      Why cant queens/brooklyn people ever just ADMIT they live ON LONG ISLAND.

      Because Long Island is Jersey East. No self respecting resident of NYC would ever associate themselves with it. We have a hard enough time accepting Staten Island.

      How often do you go to the beach in November and December? Perfectly plausible for them to be there for a while.

      George, why would anyone go to the beach in New York in the winter? That's probably one of the best places in the USA to hide bodies.

      They probably washed over from the research facilities at Plum Island. It wouldn't be the first time. They find deformed bodies on the beach on Plum Island, and on mainland beaches on occasion.

      I dunno. I go to the beach about once a week for a few hours. Of course, I live on the West Coast, make lots of money, and buy fur coats for my lady friends. Haaaay.

      A bunch of us lunatics go windsurfing in the winter on the Long Island beaches.

      The bodies were found on Oak Beach which is a strip of beach on the South Shore of LI between 2 state parks, but also across a short stretch of the Bay from Robert Moses State Park which is a very popular NY-area beach in the summer.
