Mullen says AfPak review shows U.S. on 'right track'

America's top military official said the U.S. review of strategy in Afghanistan and Pakistan "shows us that we are on the right track," but more progress needs to be made, particularly in the area of government and the rule of law.

"I remain convinced that we have the right strategy, we have the right leadership and we now have the right resources in place to disrupt, dismantle and defeat al Qaeda, to reverse the momentum of the Taliban and to prevent Afghanistan from becoming a safe haven," said Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"We can take nothing for granted at this point. In fact, our review tells us that in order to fully cement the progress we've made, we must work harder with local government on the delivery of basic services and on accountability."

I don't understand. Mullen lives in fantasyland. Everyone knows Karzai is stealing millions and millions and millions of U.S. Aid dollars. All the money goes through his government. How does Mullen deliver basic services to local government? This is an impossibility.
I would go around killing everyone (including Karzai) who did not cooperate. It's easier and results are achieved much faster.

What would one expect this bozo to say? We've been "on the right track" since 2001 and have the corpses to prove it,including men, women and children!!!

"I Must Work Harder!" Is Mullen really a horse? And is he related to Barbara Boxer? We visit the Animal Farm to find out.

Daniel. I hate bloodshed. But everybody has been dicking around with Afghanistan and no real progress has been made. The constant in this fiasco has been Karzai. It's time to blow his fuking head off. Then a big change will occur.
We will discover we are more capable of killing the Taliban and al-Qaeda. Karzai, the person who has been warning them, is dead.
