The weather outside is frightful almost everywhere

Wherever you may be today, there's a good chance you're walking in a winter wonderland. Mostly because it isn't safe to drive or fly.

A winter storm warning remained in effect through Monday afternoon for California's Sierra Nevada mountains, where 5 to 10 feet of snow could accumulate on top of the 9 to 10 feet that fell in some areas Sunday.

Heavy rains prompted the emergency evacuation Monday of nearly 2,000 residents of a flooding Southern California town and the
temporary closure of at least two highways because of mudslides.

Residents near McFarland were being evacuated Monday because of what Fire Department spokesman Sean Collins called "major flooding."

The area has been inundated with rain for four days, with totals ranging as high as 10 inches. The National Weather Service said additional rain is expected in the area through Tuesday.

Heavy snow was snarling air travel in Europe, where hundreds of flights were canceled in London, Paris, Frankfurt and Berlin. And just for good measure, the temperature reached zero degrees  Fahrenheit overnight in Northern Ireland.

London's Gatwick Airport was closed until Tuesday morning after 5 cm (2 inches) of snow fell in an hour Monday night, airport officials reported.

Airport staff was working to make stranded passengers "as comfortable as possible," but it advised other travelers to check before they left for the airport to make sure their flights were still scheduled.

Australians may see a white Christmas for the first time in decades after up to 11 inches of snow fell in New South Wales and smaller amounts in Victoria. Aussies traditionally sunbathe on the beach on Christmas.

Even people in Minnesota are complaining about winter weather. Punter Chris Kluwe says the outdoor stadium where his Vikings will play Monday night is unplayable because of cold and ice. Watch out, Chris: The area is under a game-time winter storm warning.

Perhaps worst of all, Lady Gaga had to postpone her Sunday night concert in Paris because her 28 trucks could not get into the city under a snow ban.

How is the weather where you are? Share your photos and video with CNN's iReport.

We asked, you responded.  Here are some of the photos of the weather mess in Europe that you sent us.

Everyone over 50 has seen this before. The weather on the earth has been an oscillation for millions of years. Only dunb idiots, like Democrats, think that there is something unique about the last 50 years. These people belong in the jails for imbeciles! A 4.5 billion earth has numerous cycles of hot and cold. Only a complete and absolute idiot would look at the last 100 years! only a monkey would look at the last 1000 years! and only a Democrat would believe anyone so dumb! It is probably time to declare the Democrat Party as ignorant and below home sapiens! It is really scary when politicians are dumber than monkeys! But Obama is no more than the Omega male from the Lincoln Park Zoo in the Chicago primate house!

Your efforts to put political spin on a scientific issue are hilarious.

Yeah, let's ignore the fact that this is the hottest year on record and that the polar caps are melting! Then let's call everyone else idiots even if their science is solid.

Now let's bash evolution! You seem to liken humans to monkeys, perhaps you don't have a grasp on that field either?

Durson, just because you repeat something millions of times doesnt make it true. This is the hottest year on record? Source?

Any one who bases their opinion on daily weather is just not getting the pcsture on climate change. These daily events really have nothing to do with the global climate change that is happening, other than the trend toward more extremes in our weather events. The climate is changing faster than it ever has in the history of the earth because CO2 and other greenhouse gases are being produced faster than they ever have been. This is a measurable phenomenen and the measurements are there for anyone to see as well as the melting of ice etc. The only people who have a stake in deneying global warming are those whose profits are derived from burning fossile fuels to the extent we are now. I will tell you something you already know, you are not getting any of these profits. We could burn less but then their profits would be less or go to someone else.

I live in Minnesota (born and raised in St. Paul), and I have to say the people who live here (especially the cities) are a bunch of wimps. They complain about it being too hot but then won't shut up about how they wish it was summer when it's in the single digits and snowy. Disregard the comment "even people in Minnesota are complaining about winter weather" as it doesn't really mean much. A true hearty Minnesotan would embrace this weather and deal with it happily.

Oh yeah, and the fifth largest snowfall in one period on record, has no validity to being a recognizable difference in weather during this season. Not to mention, that it is about to dump another foot today, and another possibly on Thursday. You must not actually get outside very much. ToughMinnesotan? More like FauxMinnestoan.

Not only the weather is changing but everything else. A lot of people do not know their way out these days just as the bible has foretold. However, although we are living the in the last days, there are 2 things that the bible mentioned that suppose to happen first before we enter into the great tribulation, but they have not happened yet.

See what happens when governments try to "weaponize" the weather? Think I'm joking? Look it up. Not only is it possible, it's been done before on a small scale, and there is evidence it may be going on now on a much larger scale.

The picture of the German lady is so very lovely. I think the whole global warming thing must be a good thing because it made the planet so cold so she had to bundle up like that. See if Islam portrayed the burqua like that us guys would be pushing for it not against it.
