Gotta Watch: Holiday double-take; Haiti quake; $27B museum; 'Conan' redux

Hang in there, guy – This video conjures up images from National Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation." CNN affiliate WPRI shows us one guy's Christmas display that would make even Clark Griswold tremble.

Haiti: One year later – We are just shy of the first anniversary of the earthquake that killed some 230,000 people in Haiti. CNN looks at what Haiti looked like after it happened and what has - and hasn't - been done help the island nation recover.

$27 billion museum plan – A breathtaking project is in the planning stages on Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island that will bring together the Guggenheim, the Louvre and the Sheikh Zayed National Museum all in one place. The total cost is rumored to be around $27 billion.

Morning Cup of Conan redux – You know her from "Flight of the Concords" and now, as a correspondent for "The Daily Show." Kristen Schaal talks to Conan O'Brien about why she once walked around New York with a giant check and her latest gigs doing cartoon voices.

Very noticable...great way to cause car accidents as people screech to a halt to help. I know- something similar happened to me.

Right. Next time he should put a fake dead baby on his front lawn, that would really stop the traffic. It's all pretty pointless and stupid when juxtaposed with the image right below it of the starving, desperate Haitians in a crush for food.

Here we go with the political correctness police. Get off your high horse and let people have some fun Sam99999. There is a time to be serious and a time to laugh. Unfortunately CNN put one right above the other.

If people would be watching the road as they ought to, they wouldn't be distracted by this.

He got the idea off the Internet . . . 20 years ago? Seriously? Am I missing something? Was he working for the DoD?

Actually the internet was available to the public for more then 20 years, although most current users wouldn't even recognize it. Actually enteral September (when AOL started offering internet access) started in 1993, and while the growth has taken the net to far more places then we could have ever imagined it has also resulted in large sections of it being nothing but trolls and spam.

I think he meant "He saw it on ARPANET 20 years ago." But this guy doesn't look like he was hanging out at MIT.

Not exactly new, but funny. The internet 20 years ago? Carlos must have been helping Al Gore when he was inventing the internet.

He got the idea from the Internet about 20 years ago? That doesn't sound right.

This display could work for Halloween as well, it sure would save him a lot of hassle with changing decor. I remember the internet 20 years ago, I had a Speak and Spell

THAT IS INNNNCORRECT. THE CORRECT SPELLING OF "INTERNET" IS "EYE" – "ENNN" – "TEEEE" – "EEEEE" – "AAARRRE" – "ENNN" – "EEEEE" – "TEEEE"

20 years ago I ran a BBS that offered internet access to the public, so it's not as crazy as it sounds. rec.humor.funny was pretty popular then, which may be where he got he idea. This was before the infamous green card spam when newsgroups still had meaningful discussions on them.

It would have taken him a year to download that idea.

This story is a great example of how many people don't pay attention while driving. If they're looking at a mannequin hanging off of a house, they're not paying attention to the road.

Part of driving is being aware of your surroundings, not only the road.

How can anyone effectively determine someone is a mannequin hanging off a roof while they are driving by at 30MPH?
And the guy seems to have gone to great lengths to make it look authentic: The unfinished lighting installation, the ladder, and the mannequin looks pretty human to me, even on the picture. I had to actually read the article to realize it was a hoax.
Would you really NOT stop, or at least slowed down, if you spot a scene like this on any neighborhood home?

People are so damn negative these days. Guess a lot of people don't have a sense of humor. I think it's pretty funny. Thanks for the good laugh. And hello dont tell me you always keep your eyes on the road, we all have to look around us to keep from killing a child thats chasing after their ball heading for the road!
