She apparently just died, so CNN is not withholding information from you, they're probably just reporting that she died because that is ALL know right now. Or would you rather they wait a couple of weeks to announce her death, so they can get all the lab work back?

Lady T was a woman a head of her time with those songs. No one can not and would not dare sings these songs as good as her.

First of all how old are you? I am 53. A lot of young people who are 25 right now know who he is. I was 25 or younger when this young woman came on the scene of music. She was only one year older than I am. If you wanna find out who She is go online, or checked the library of music. If you're not careful you may learn something.

Hello CNN I have to apologize for the juvenile responses you've received from the afro-american community. I am of that community myself and I must admit that it is juvenile and plainly stupid to complain that no facts of her death were given. It requires common sense to know that a coroner gives cause of death and not a news agency and I am glad you verify your facts before you report them. Thats called being a credible news agency, again I apologize sometimes you cant fix stupid.
      Sincerely,
      Kobie J. Stroman

    • Huh!-What!

You have taken this completely off the level. YOU PLAYED THE RACE CARD!!!!!! AGAINST YOUR OWN RACE AT THAT! LOL! Did it occur to you that people didn't want to believe it due to previous rumored deaths? Instead you attack an entire race of people over this. What a way to honor her death. The AFRO-American community, of which you claim to be a part of – we just black where I'm from, has shown her much love and respect. She broke racial barriers at a time where others wished they could have. Talk to here agents and managers and find out where her money came from. You are just a self hating wack job to turn this into an issue of ignorance of race. Find a rope for yourself.

How degradng to ASSume the negative response are from African Americans. You definitely cannot tell from the way they typed, can you? Please confirm/prove your statement. Thanks for being the more civilized representative for the black community... and yes, that was sarcasm.

People are looking for a quick bio of who she was such as "Teena Marie was known for her soulful voice on hits such as 'Square Biz' and her highly acclaimed duet, 'Fire and Desire' with Rick James. Teena was highly acclaimed for her one of a kind voice and her ability for breaking the barrier of race in the R&B industry. " .... really, was that so hard? No one is looking for CSI Miami results for facts in her death. They could have just said details of the cause of death has not been confirmed or it has been rumored the songstress dies in her sleep, confirmed details to follow. I don't think that's too much to ask for from a highly respected media publisher. Take the stick out of your butt and learn to love yourself because you really seem like someone who hates your own skin. There was no need to go to such an unnecessary level.

I think the term people of color is what it is and that's not a term to use on Us; Just say Black and keep it moving... From a Black person not (a person of color)...R.I.P Lady T and please forgive the lost few out there...

It would help if the writer of this post provided information on the person who died. I've don't recall the name Teena Marie, but if given some information on her 'works' I might.

I agree, what would it have taken for the writer to do research on her before posting. I actually refreshed the page twice cause I thought my computer didnt load it properly. Teena Marie was a huge part of the 80's music scene and was sometimes known as lady t. She sung a song called Square Biz which was as great as the song was popular. In that particular song she rapped and sang. You can check sites like Wikipedia for more info. Hope it helps.
