I am so saddened to hear this news! I've known Teena since we were in High School together (Venice High School), we starred in our High School Musical Carousel together and used to always refer to each other as "The other Tina Marie" – such sad and devastating news! Just saw her at the LA COUNTY FAIR and had a great reunion! Rest in Peace Sweet One and know that I will always miss you and remember you as the other Tina Marie and the great fun we had! XOXO

Teena Marie is a legend, she is one artist who hasn't been featured on the blogs or in the tabloids as a loser or lost cause. My condolences to her family! A true artist has been lost today!

Teena was/is and will always be my girl. LOVED her voice and her 30+ years in the music business is a testament to her massive talent, writer, producer, arranger, musician, singer, performer. She did it ALL!
I will miss her dearly. I had the priviledge to see her once in concert when I was only 17 years old..I am 51 years old now.
Gone too soon, I hope she is on a cloud in heaven singing a joyous duet with Rick.

Lady T will be surely missed. No one can come close to filling her shoes. One of my favorite songs from her is Irons in the Fire. Sing on Heavenly Angel..you are with the Father now. Rest in Peace.

I decided to come to CNN to get confirmation my favorite singer of all time has died...then I decide to read our fellow American's comments and after 4 or 5 of them the topic changes to a**holes discussing stuff that has nothing to do with Teena. If you have nothing positive to say or related to the article then why comment at all. Geez...people don't respect the dead anymore and the wonderful contribitutions they brought to this shi*y world and all the shi*y people in it!!!!
