Singer Teena Marie dead at 54
Teena Marie, an award-winning singer-songwriter known for her R&B
performances, has died, her manager said Sunday. The performer was 54.
Marie was found dead by her daughter after apparently dying in her sleep,
manager Mike Gardner said.

This is incredibly sad! It seems like all of the forefathers (and mothers) of real, good soul music are passing away! Everyone we grew up on and influenced the industry in some way. May she rest in heavenly peace.
To anyone who doesn't know who she is...please download her music and sit still for a moment to listen...her voice was magical...her music was timeless... and she represented an epoch in music that will never be matched, just copied...I am so sad to hear about her untimely passing...just too damn young no matter how you look at it...RIP Miss T...we'll always be talking Square Biz!!!!

Words fail me yet my heart & mind did one thing once it was confirmed. Teena helped me through life afflictions & perspective on life dubious stages. I just hope she gets recognition she deserved when she was living & definitely now since she's gone. One thing 4 sure, her music will ALWAYS LIVE. When Michael passed, I said my daughter will know him. She's 3 & the only music & videos she want 2 hear & watch is Michael. Likewise for Lady Tee. Rest well Teena.
