Singer Teena Marie dead at 54
Teena Marie, an award-winning singer-songwriter known for her R&B
performances, has died, her manager said Sunday. The performer was 54.
Marie was found dead by her daughter after apparently dying in her sleep,
manager Mike Gardner said.

I am so shocked, speechless and sadden by this terrible news, i can't even begin to express it. I never missed a concert here in LA Lady T is the "only" entertainer next to Natalie Cole whose 8-track, album, and cd that i will listen to in it's entirety. I will keep my favorite song "Irons in the Fire" playing in my heart always.

Teena was one of my favorite singers of all time. Her music was apart of my child and adulthood Anyone who saw her inconcert knew that she was one of the greats. I saw her in concert 3 months ago and couldn't sit down. I'm in shock by the news.....RIP Ms TEENA MARIE......aka Lady T!
You BUMS should show more respect for Lady T. She was an icon the B&B world. She had staying power not like some of these fake one hit wonder people and groups current and pass. My daughter called me to tell me Lady T was gone. I remember my daughter listening to her when she was only 4 years old and she knew all the words to Square Biz. I will miss Lady T's music as much as I miss Michael Jackson's music.
I remember sitting with the album and listening to Square Biz. Always staring at the album and amazed as a child born in 1974
