My goodness when my son facebooked of the rumor that turned out to be true I couldn't believe it! Tina Miss Lady T I have loved you since day one in 1979 when you debuted your album Wild and Peaceful. I'm Gonna Have My Cake and Eat it Too did it for me! Absolutely Beautiful Soulful voice. Dynamic on stage with Rick James as the driving motivation in sync and behind you and your music. Such a terrible loss to lose a true lady of soul, R & B rap jazz so many other genres, Lady T, Vanilla Child. I will really miss you.

Wow i cant say enough. I go way back with Teena from the first record she made. From her 1st apperance on Soul Train. From skating at Venice Beach in CA. She was the 1st white women that i said had soul and moved me on the dance floor. I move away from my home in LA for 11 years. My kids knew of her music from being raised by me. And they grew to dance and love her too. Every cd she made i would buy and it would play over and over in my home and car. With music fadeing away with all this auto tune i was happy to hear she came back with a new cd. (Congo Square) Of course i ran out to buy it. Not knowing that her cd will give me confornt in the most diffcult time in my life. She worte a song called soldier. 11-12-2008 i lost my 22 year old baby in the USAF. I would play that song over and over. She worte it for a close friend she had lost in this sinceless war. I went too see her in concert in 2009 Jazz Festval. I spoke to a gaurd just telling him how much i enjoy the concert and how much i love Tenna. I also shared with him how that one song help me though my griving. Not know that he went and told her and after the concert she ask for me to come to her trailer. She was cool as always. She wrap her arms around me. I teard up and watch her eyes warter from seeing my pain. Teena asked how to spell my daughter name. She grab a CD and wrote TO MARSCHELLE GOD LOVES YOU BEST! LOVE ALWAYS TEENA JOE. I say to you Teena we love you, but GOD LOVES YOU BETTER. I will contiune to play and interdouce your music to those that didnt know you. My baby is an musical angel and i am happy to know she has you with her now. Oh what a celebratiion. May the LORD give your family stegnth though thease times.
Oh this is just too sad for words. To Teena's daughter, your mother was one of the most magnificent entertainers on the planet! She had the voice of an angel...I especially loved her slower tunes...she was certainly on loan from Heaven, Beloved...live on and carry on. Thank you Teena for some of the sweetest songs I've ever heard in my life...Blessings and comfort to all of her family, friends and fans...
I first heard this woman in 1978 my big sister played her day & night I fell in love with her music I was only 12yrs old @ the time what I gettin @ I still play 1 of her songs (Irons in the fire) my recovery song I will her music & concerts R.I.P LADY TEE. my prayers go out to your family, friends, and us fans..
My grandma and I was just listening to radio music when Fire and Desire came on. I told my grandmother I saw Ms. Marie and the late great Rick James at Madison Square Garden when they performed this diamond jam (which should have garnered worldwide attention and Grammys) and how 25,000 people went nuts and once when these two legends performed this song and others. I will miss Lady T and her powerful voice! She was one of a kind and one of the most sincerest hardest working entertainers on Earth. I pray for her beautiful daughter, R..I.P. Lady T!
Thank You Teena for all you have given to me as a fan, to me as a musician and to me as another human being, not a statistic working for a recording label or like many holding on to a job that when it's all said and done you are a number too.
Teena taught us to love and how to love thru her music, in a way that not many know how. WE must not be concerned with how she left us, we can fill volumes with how she lived. she will always be in my heart.
I am saddened to hear this but understand the highest power has the last word
I will miss her, and do my best to follow the advise she offered to all musicians and share this with those who need her truth.
Rest In Peace Teena

Teena Marie was cold-blooded as Rick James would say. She could sing with the best of the soul sisters. The lady was bad!
My thoughts and prayers to daughter and family! rest in peace sister. Youve left the world with such awesome music. God bless.
will be missed very much. rest in peace
