Teena Marie, an award-winning singer-songwriter known for her R&B
performances, has died, her manager said Sunday. The performer was 54.
Marie was found dead by her daughter after apparently dying in her sleep,
manager Mike Gardner said.
Oh Teena, How I will miss your beautiful voice. Thanks for all the times me and my love made love to you, and you and Rick. Take care girl. My man is waiting in heaven lik Rick was for you. I will see you all there.
I was shocked to hear Lady T has passed on. I went to her concert in 2009. She has been my favorite female artist since the 1980s. I love Teena Marie and may you be in heaven with the angels. I am very sorry to her daughter Rose, that she had to experience that day, and that she is in a lot of pain. I really feel for you. Teena Marie will always live in all our hearts. Lady T may you Rest In Peace.

One of thee best soulful singers ever
Alia, my prayers are with you and your family at this time. There are no words to express how much I wish you and your family love, peace and comfort. Even though I did not know your mother personally, her music told me that she was a beautiful spirit with a loving soul. Your mother's songs have been a part of my life for over thirty years. My all time favorite song, to this day is "De Ja Vu". My ten year old daughter's favorite is "Irons in the Fire". Alia, please know that God has a plan for your mother's heavenly voice, she will surely bring joy to the angels.
What a great singer will be missed dearly I remember the concert in Country Club Hills Theater in IL and it was a blast and she sung her heart out I know she is doning the jig with Rick James singing Fire and Desire . Miss you already Teena but your music shall live on .!
Damn, I'm just devastated. My prayers go out to her lovely daughter. I wish the media had more coverage on this very sad event. Lady T was one of the best singers of our time.
U will be deeply miss. U was one of the best.we will miss u. RIP Teena.
Teena will be missed in body, but her music will stand the test of time. Lady T got me through some crazy times during the 80's and 90's and I will always cherish her great works of art. I use to sing along with all of her songs, and now I will begin doing that again as my personal tribute to her. I pray for her daughters strength during her time of lost. We may have lost her body, but her soul will be with all of us forever. Rest in peace...
I sat with M tonight, he is heart broken, in shock and coming undone over your passing. OMG – I still can't believe my High School Partner in Crime is gone! just saw you a few months ago and we were cracking up over those silly days of calling each other "the other Tina Marie"! I will miss you my friend, we go way back when to those crazy days at Venice High School starring in "Carousel" and cracking each other up! Rest in Peace, you have been in my heart since High School, and you will remain there always! Love and Miss You Always! xoxo
Let's face it, she's no Tania Maria. Now, Tania has real talent. Teena? Not so much.

Hi Hugh Normous,
Try listening to some of her music. I am sure you might not like some of it, or maybe the music doesn't fit your age group. Ms Teena came from the Motown sound of the 70's and 80's. Teena had a deep passion for lyrics that moved the soul, and she took you to a place with her songs that when you listen to her music, you never wanted the beat to stop. Her lyrics were true to llife, powerful, and had meaning to them. She talked about being in and out of love–And trust me you heard and felt every word.
Try some Teena, it's all about love.
God bless the soul singers who have passed before us. Lady "T" bought us a sound that was unique and helped to establish how well our female artist can take the groove to the streets. Teena was respected by all in the music industry and will be missed, as was "Left Eye", Alya, Minnie Rippton, Phylis Hymann, just to name a few famous Divas's making their mark early to see that flame extingished far to early. Rest in Pease lady "T"
What a party-It was like it was yesterday-That concert was the joint.-–:)
I loved her music. She was my favorite female artist. When she made her comeback afew years ago she was still just as powerful and awesome as when she started singing. I send my prayers to her family and friends. Her daughter song a few times with her on stage. I hope her daughter follows her mothers footsteps with the vocals and keep her legacy alive in her own sounds. R I P.
I love you Teena and will miss you much. I jammed last night listening to Cassanova Brown. R.I.P. Lady T.
