Delta flight makes emergency landing

A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 en route from Detroit, Michigan, to Phoenix, Arizona, made an emergency landing Thursday morning in Colorado Springs, Colorado, after reporting engine trouble, an airport spokesman said.

Flight 1921 landed safely, but passengers had to use emergency chutes to evacuate the plane after rescue crews found the craft's brakes were hot.

Two of the plane's 225 passengers and crew suffered minor injuries during the evacuation and were treated at a hospital.

    Would be nice to know what the engine trouble was and what kind of engines they were.

      they say it was an engine shut down in flight, which is pretty normal considering the amount of times it happens per day with nothing else going on, however they started to descend and figured better safe then sorry. the story will probably be edited as more info is known.

      I had a family member on the plane who said it was definitely something to do with the engine. After they've had a chance to settle I'll post any details.

      i make jet engine parts for a living so whenever i see a news story about one failing i like to read up and see what went wrong. usually its electronic.

    We've actually thought about running water down the chute during evac and charging for it as a thrill ride. Idea was killed by someone in safety dept.

    Well then lizard king ,its like 330 and your on the computer,can ya Make parts and talk too? maybe thats what happened. their mechanic was probably on an important 900 call the day he was making thhem faulty engine an brake parts instead of watching what he was doing he was thinking,dang chutes so purdy!

    An lizardking, I work at nine west selling shoes all day.
    looking up them wimmens lil skirts all day long,shoowee! its like being an inspector or part maker if you think about it? Lookin up,makin stuff fit that quite dont,then charging out the the chute when its all overwith!

    Lizardking,do you put them chutes on drone aircraft too? Do you use standard or metric? cause you know you can be 13 cm and it sounds way better than,baby Im packin a 3.5er

    Hot damnit, a pharmacist that builds chutes for crashing planes in the military. that knows an awful lot on illegal drugs? go figure. Do you get tested by any chance? See i was thinking about a career change and we get tested,but hell,it seems like we could have fun. With all that you have there.

    Why would the brakes be hot during mid-flight?? Wouldn't the brakes heat up when they land?

      Im assuming they heated up to abnormal temperatures when it landed because the plane didn't have the reverse thrust from the failed engine to help it slow down.
