Indiana earthquake: a 'very loud boom'

[Update 12:14 p.m.:] The U.S. Geological Survey has downgraded the earthquake from a 4.2 magnitude to a 3.8 magnitude.

[Original post] Debra Sholty was just opening up her business Thursday morning in Kokomo, Indiana, when a magnitude 4.2 earthquake rumbled through the north-central part of the state.

"It was like a huge explosion under your feet," said Sholty, the owner of Hobson Cleaners.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck just before 8 a.m. ET and was three miles deep. Its epicenter was located about 15 miles east-southeast of Kokomo, and 50 miles north of Indianapolis.

I doubt the US government is responsible for the world's earthquakes. And I don't recall Jesus mentioning Uncle Sam when he made his prophesies. (Although the prophet Daniel and the Apostle Paul did, but not in connection with earthquakes.)

It's "fraccing"...short for 'fracturing'. It's what we do to open up hydrocarbon bearing formations to extract more than we could otherwise. We formulate our frac fluid using mostly water, acid, and polymers. After drilling a well, if it doesn't produce like we hoped, we frac it. Or, in the case of an older well losing production, we frac it to extract the last bit of oil and/or natural gas. (just so ya know)

We also use a less invasive form of fraccing especially near rivers, lakes, and streams so as not to contaminate them. My previous post discussed the most common form used because it is fast and somewhat more effective. But it contaminates the surrounding aquifers because it is done with around 25,000 psi. "Foam-faraccing" gently massages the formation and is time consuming. But it is accomplished with lower pressures, generally less than 2,500 psi, and utilizes inert ingredients, as in you could drink the foamer we use and not die. We also use similar ways to initially drill wells, drilling them with compressed air, an air-mist, a stable-foam, or a stiff foam rather than using the conventional mud-drilling technique. Air and/or foam drilling produces very little hydrostatic pressure on the well, whereas mud-drilling produces enourmous pressures at the bottom of the well. There isn't as much room for greed drilling with air/foam though, so it is relatively uncommon.

i would rather read anything based on facts than the bible. the bible is a bunch of stories that people sent to the church and they put them in the bible. So anything in your book is all stories get over it. you know it and the rest of the world knows it unless they are the types that send money to an organized religion. its a scam just like the governments around the world are just people taking from each other. you can say the bible is two thousand years old to because people were no different then always looking out for number one. religion is a joke. and so is government. there is no way 300000000 million Americans pay taxes yet the roads and schools are crap. quit fooling yourselves and look what is really happening. morals are morals that is all the church preaches then they ask for your money. believe in Christ so that i can take your money. that's what they should tell u when u join up with any religion. everyone is acting like a bunch of sheep. why don't u be productive citizens and learn to set the example not be the example. lead follow or get out of the way that's the motto usa used to have.

When you look at the collective amount of brainwashed idiotcy in this country, it is easy to understand why we allow two faced con men to lead us.religion has its place, and that place is not in serving the masses.how many years of war happeneed trying to force a personal choice on others is insane.is there any stronger argument than the middle east or closer to home,UTAH. Any government official no matter what level should be terminates immediately if thet utter the word 'GOD'.
