An airborne single-engine plane collided with a medical-evacuation helicopter at Virginia's Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport on Friday, killing two people, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The incident involved a single-engine Cessna 172 and Eurocopter EC135 MedEvac helicopter, the FAA's Jim Peters said. The two who died were on the single-engine plane; the helicopter landed safely with no injuries aboard, the FAA said.
oh, well he's an idiot.
To those talking trash and think death is funny. Wait til it happens to your family member or loved one, then post and tell us how funny that was. The end is coming and you'll be the funnier. Go to youtube username israel5535 and click on "11 stars 12 stars 7 stars in the bible found." true story.
also I am gay. and of course have aids.
Come on now anyone can get their piolits license.I it was prob. A lack of expertise. Or hanging with the piolits at the airport.
These single engines should be outlawed. People maintain and fly them like they drive and maintain their cars. Nothing but death traps to passengers and the innocent public. The Bissette family should have sued for a Catherine's Law lto bring a spotlight on this menace, instead of selfishly pocketing the civil suit proceeds.
Well, it's pretty clear you have absolutely zero knowledge of the aviation industry and its regulations for single engine aircraft.
I'm wondering who died in this collision, and how the helicopter was able to still fly after being hit by the Cessna. (also, this is my first post on this news, the above "phil" is not me.)
the helicopter made a brushing contact on top of the plane. both were traveling a slow speed. it was weird how fast the wing fell off of the plane.
Condolences to the families. I fly a C172 and C182 and I work hard to keep a lookout for traffic.
BELIEVE THEY SAID IN MID AIR ANYHOW THAT GUY THAT CAN FLY ANYTHING U MUST BE DOIN IT FOR A LIVING

Thank you for the Estelle Getty impersonation, now go eat some cheesecake with all your grayhaired girlfriends.
but it is true muslims make better pilots.
Use a little imagination people. Maybe the plane's wing or tail just clipped the copter enough to bring the plane down but not damage the helicopter? Ya think, maybe?
I flew 172's years ago. There were at least four things that always made me edgy – 1)other airplanes, 2)power lines at the end of a runway, 3)towers and 4)weather. I'll leave the flying to the pro's – for me it was just a risky hobby.
Meanwhile in the United States today, 110 people were killed in various car accidents across the country...
blah blah blah
As usual, idiotic trolls come out to play....
