NYPD: Uncollected trash broke man's fall during suicide attempt
Many New York residents have been piling criticism on city officials over heaps of snow and uncollected garbage lining streets after last week's blizzard. But trash bags left on one curbside may have saved a man's life, police said.
The garbage apparently broke the fall of a man who attempted suicide by jumping from the ninth floor of a building in midtown Manhattan Sunday, the New York Police Department said.
Police did not release the name of the man, who was still in critical condition late Sunday.
New York sanitation officials suspended garbage pickup after the blizzard, focusing on plowing instead.
They have said limited trash collection around the city will resume Monday, and that trucks began making garbage pickups at large apartment buildings Sunday.

Good morning. I just wanted to let everyone know that we have a poser in our midst. This individual has been using other people's personal usernames in an attempt to disrupt our conversations and make it seem like we are always posting in this fashion to anyone visiting her for the first time. So, if someone youmet here and have come to know a little bit starts posting like a teenager on drugs, it's not your friend. Those of us who are genuine and have been here for a while can pretty much tell when this troll(s) hit the boards, but we should all be careful that this does not destroy our personal relationships with one another nor with CNN. (not that i'm a huge CNN fan, I come here because the people are nicer than the other news outlets)

Some of us who have been here for awhile have little trouble figuring out the s/n's (screen names) that you usually post under and are patiently waiting for CNN staff to do something about it. So troll-on and "enjoy" it while you still can. And know that when all is said and done, it is only you yourselves being hurt. You are abusing yourselves in your vain attempts to abuse others. I sincerely hope you can see this somehow, and get some help. Visit any mental health professional (I suggest finding one that doesn't prescribe drugs) and they will help you. Or openly discuss this with your parents or close family friend who still love you, if any. You only think that this sort of behavior is amusing. In reality, if you don't do something about it, your very being will pay a hefty toll. You and only you will pay the price.

Score one for lazy sanitation workers. This totally makes up for the dead newborn. I'm suspecting this guy tried to end his life to avoid sharing the same air as some of you people on here. The cowardice you show when you're safely anonymous reveals your failed upbringing. Society and your parents have truly failed you.
@Bane...My posting habits have remained relatively unchanged, although due to the volume of trolling last night, I did quit posting. After my last post of the evening, I did post that it was my last one and any following "phil's" posting were not me. And phil is my real name. It's short for Philip, and it means "Lover of horses" in latin, although riding horses has never really been fun for me. I was raised way up in the Rocky Mountain's and horse riding meant work.
