Judge sets aside convictions in Anna Nicole Smith case

A judge Thursday set aside the conviction of Anna Nicole Smith's lawyer and boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, saying there was no evidence he intended to break the law by using false names to obtain drug prescriptions for the actress.

The judge has also set aside several felony convictions against a doctor who was charged for her role in the death of Anna Nicole Smith.

Judge Robert Perry dismissed all but one conviction against Dr. Khristine Eroshevich. He reduced the remaining conviction to a misdemeanor, fined her $100 and ordered her to serve a short time on probation.

Ok, first of all everyone on here calling people idiots and other names are the actual idiots cause blogs are for the purpose to read and state your own opinion. Last I heard "freedom of speech" is our right as Americans! State your opinion and don't judge the other people who state theirs! And for the ones who keep bring up the fact of someone being Jewish, what does that have to do with anything... Obviously you people are racist!! Are you Nazi's?? Cause that what it sounds like to me. What does it matter what religion people practice? Now, for Anna Nicole and this whole situation... Dr. Stern is absolutely the reason for her addiction, I believe. he knew if he kept her drugged up he could... murder her son and work on killing her as well! If he truly cared about ANS and the child that he believed was his, he would have helped her to get off drugs while she was pregnant! He could write her scripts for anything and everything. He could've told her it was for something else or a condition that she didn't

So will the judge reimburse the taxpayers for the cost of the trial?

The judge must have been one of the men paying Howard to go into Anna's bedroom and spend quality time with her. I guess Howard blackmailed him. Surely no judge in his right mind would say he saw nothing wrong.

Congratulations Howard. You need to write a book on how to commit harri-karri and get away with it.

This judge is so wrong on procedural law it is pitiful and he has just gotten himself in a ton of trouble. Just on procedural, not on the aspects of the case. How do you throw out a jurys verdict without any new evidence? He dosnt have that power. He could of given a lieniet sentence, but he cant just throw out the jurys verdict. He has ruined himself... hope he got paid well.

I suffer from chronic pain...my whole body hurts everyday of my life..its unimaginable pain! Im NOT RICH AND FAMOUS, nor am I SELF CENTERED enough to ask anyone to risk jail time for me by getting FAKE prescriptions. I do not believe that anyone with the kind of money Ms. Smith had couldnt have gotten 1 Dr. who could have given her drugs that can bring the pain to a tolerable level. On bad days, weeks, and months..I must stay in bed and rest. I choose to only take the drugs my Dr allows..and she doesn't allow alot, but any more is self medicating..we (those that suffer with chronic pain) must learn to live with some of the pain. The meds are addicting and thats why you only go to one DR. and get the scripts IN YOUR OWN NAME!!! If my husband (or a boyfriend) had got prescriptions for me IN SOME OTHER NAME and I died as a result he would be in PRISON. Claiming IGNORANCE of the law does not change the fact that you broke the law. Ms. Smith lead an active lifestyle with her career. I can't stand long enough to cook a meal for my family..but as someone said...MONEY TALKS...WHY ARE THE RICH AND FAMOUS and in MR. STERNS case IGNORANT allowed a different set of rules than the middle class? I think its high time that the AMERICAN citizens who make these people so rich and famous, DEMAND that they follow the same set of LAWS that every other CITIZEN must abide by. I wasn't in the courtroom..but one thing I do know, Is that a Well known ATTORNEY like MR STERNS should have never have been allowed to get away with pleading ignorance..Cause the reality of it is, he knew every loop hole in the law that would allow him to get off scott free. I believe Mr. Sterns Plan A failed, but the Plan B seems to be working out quite nicely. Nothing ventured nothing gained...Anna Nicole swallowed every pill he fed her! Is he soley responsible No she played a role as well.. but he is certainly not innocent....Im just sayin...
