WikiLeaks ex-spokesman penning tell-all
A man who played an instrumental role in the WikiLeaks website is penning a memoir that will hit stores February 15. No, it's not Julian Assange. We're talking about Daniel Domscheit-Berg, who abruptly quit WikiLeaks as its spokesman in September. His book will debut just weeks after a Vanity Fair article that promises to reveal the dramatic back story about the Guardian and New York Times' dealings with Assange.
"Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World's Most Dangerous Website" will "reveal the evolution, finances, and inner tensions" of WikiLeaks, according to Crown Publishing. Domscheit-Berg will also explain why he left WikiLeaks and his "disenchantment with the organization's lack of transparency, its abandonment of political neutrality, and the increasing concentration of power by Assange," according to a David Drake, the senior executive vice president of publicity at Crown.
Since leaving WikiLeaks, Domscheit-Berg has said he plans to launch OpenLeaks.org, a site that will share information - obtained from anonymous sources - with outlets such as news media and nonprofit rights groups that are best able to report it.
The book will tell the story of how Domscheit-Berg met Assange in 2007 at the Chaos Computer Club, a controversial hacker group based in Germany. CCC once reportedly published a German politician's fingerprints to protest using identity technology on passports.
Domscheit-Berg worked with WikiLeaks for several years, helping coordinate significant leaks, including information about a corrupt election in Kenya and the release of a classified video showing a U.S. Apache helicopter firing at and killing civilians (including two journalists) on the ground in Iraq.
It was reported in December that Assange had signed book deals worth more than $1 million.

If u were a judge i can see u giving a cop a death penalty for bring a murderer rapist into your court, and rewarding the criminal with $millions for his crimes. And if you were an officer standing by, i imagined u shooting an old lady for crying for helps while giving a cool ride to the person that stole evething from her. What did assange do wrong, reporting injustices to others, because it does not affect u and i dirrectly? Truth be told? That information is US business not yours. Why don't they Wikileak about Iran, China, or Russia? Focused on the US like they are the only bad government in the world.

Last time I checked, you would need to break a law to be a criminal. Publishing embarrassing information that the governement and the press have coluded to keep from the public- is not yet a crime.
Criminal US government? So I guess the freedom we have is evil & Russia, Iran, & China should teach the US how to run things. No government is prefect.
Jail Assange so I can go back to grazing the pasture and waiting for the day of slaughter. At least the government shepards will keep me safe from myself until that day comes.

There is no lack of neutrality, he publishes information from everyone, and he makes no edits to it. He just posts raw information.

Incorrect. Recall the Apache video (aka "collateral murder")? He very much edited it, clearly pointing out the reporters with the cameras while downplaying the men with AK-47s and the one who was clearly shown with an RPG. The guy is going for effect, and America is a popular target these days. Not saying America does everything right, but people like Assange definitely make it sound worse than it is for his own gain.

Assange has nothing to do with your life. Does him being a criminal or not affect your life in any way? As far as I am concerned he hasn't been proven guilty so he is not a criminal. Everyone can say what they want, but does it matter? does it change anything?
