Mass animal deaths scrutinized as Google map cites numerous incidents

Five thousand blackbirds in Arkansas. One hundred pelicans near Jacksonville, North Carolina. Three hundred doves in Italy. Seventy bats in Tucson, Arizona. Thousands of fish in Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brazil and the United States.

Google is now hosting a map of incidents of mass animal deaths around the world. Google Maps' distinctive blue balloons indicate where the deaths took place. Click on a balloon, and the map provides you with a link to a news report on the incident.

As of Friday afternoon, there were about 30 cases pinpointed on the search engine's mapping site, most of them in the U.S. and Europe.

Some might say it's getting spooky - and not just by conspiracy theorist standards - but experts tell CNN Radio that theories of UFOs and secret government weapons are, naturally, far-fetched.

In the case of the Arkansas blackbirds, wildlife buffs have said that a loud noise or other event may have precipitated the blunt-force trauma that killed the birds. Of all the notions about their deaths, Susie Kesielke, curator of birds at the Los Angeles Zoo, believes the theory that fireworks startled the birds is the most plausible.

“Blackbirds roost communally in the wintertime, and they sleep more soundly than most animals,” Kesielke said, adding that the birds were shocked awake and extremely disoriented.

Jonathan Sleeman, director of the National Wildlife Health Center in Madison, Wisconsin, said his office has investigated 16 mass bird deaths in the past 20 years.

“This is a bit unusual but not unique,” he explained. “Most of the cases involved pesticides or poison ingested by the birds, but trauma has also been found to be the cause of mass bird deaths."

Good to know experts aren't buying that Armageddon is upon us. Offering even more comfort is the blog Universe Today, which suggests that the deaths aren't so much strange as they are "a symptom of the digital age where news travels faster than you can say, 'The End is Nigh.' "

It cites a Time magazine article that details several strange mass animal deaths and wonders "if the internet age allows us to connect the dots where there are none to be connected."

As for connecting dots, the blog suggests that the map on Google could be laid on top of a "current global oil exploration map to test the hypothesis that the deaths could have been caused by ground-penetrating tomography."

In any case, it seems level heads are prevailing for now - at least until scads of humans succumb to spontaneous combustion.

“Until the sky turns red and there’s a plague of locusts, this event is not that unusual,” Sleeman said of the blackbirds.

Looking at the Map No non NATO country has been affected, only our Allies and the United States have been effected. So it's some sort of electronic transmission being tested. Most likely the HAARP. Looks like G.I. Joe has perfected the Weather Dominator and The Broadcast Energy Transmitter.

When I saw this, I couldn't help but post it. 2nd Esdaras Chapter 5

6 And even he shall rule, whom they look not for that dwell upon the earth, and the fowls shall take their flight away together:
7 And the Sodomitish sea shall cast out fish, and make a noise in the night, which many have not known: but they shall all hear the voice thereof.
8 There shall be a confusion also in many places, and the fire shall be oft sent out again, and the wild beasts shall change their places, and menstruous women shall bring forth monsters:
9 And salt waters shall be found in the sweet, and all friends shall destroy one another; then shall wit hide itself, and understanding withdraw itself into his secret chamber,

Total hog wash. More than like the birds hit a gas cloud or jet fuel. As far as the fish tons of things could explain that. If someone walks into a building tomorrow and kills 30 people that wouldn't be in the bible now would it? Same with these birds and the fish. Something or maybe even someone is responsible and it has an explanation.

There has been an alarming amount of NATURAL disasters over the last few years. I think the birds and the fish are dying due to the changing natural environment as humans are also affected by events like Haiti and Hurricane Katrina. Weather conditions will become more and more harsh due to global warming. The fish might have been affected by the cold weather we've been having.

The weak shall pass first as global warming will impact everyone's lives. No one can escape the wrath of Mother Nature.

Yeah, I read the responses, we might not be friends, but you are trying to destroy Karl here.
As witty as all you guys think you're being five minutes of google can tell you that even though this is a passage from a B.S. text, things are changing, magnetically oriented animals are washing up on shore everywhere and have been for year or two know in massive numbers. I wish I could be so egotistical to say "Humans are the cause," we were for most other things, but this is type of worldwide "unknown" death is as simple as magnetism.

I feel there is truth in almost everything and everywhere. The signs are for those who see or will be willing to believe. Water is water, nothing special, but it is shown thT prayer and or positive energy can alter the molecular structure.......the oceans have been merging with freshwater in places where the environment is not respected. I am not an expert, butt look to palo alto and the east bay.....what is a salty marsh.....some things are meant to be separated. Fresh water is of a limited supply. This salinazation of our drinking water on earth is but one of the signs you mention. I don't think we should try to find too many science explanations on these species falling from the skies. Even if BP is to blame from the toxins in the oceans, it does not lesson the fact that it is happening. I think the canary in the coal mine is dying nd we all must put forth the positive energy that we might call prayer and heal the planet, and that means reconcile ourselves to all what has been done and look for truth in actions daily. Peace....

Actually the men who wrote that did not believe the earth was 5,000 years old and flat. I am guessing you were a C student at a weak public school Jared. It is however provocative to see the trends going on world wide, with the crumbling of economy, mass deaths of animals, and constant bickering it is obvious that we are in a difficult time. So the question I pose is this, is the time difficult because we make it so, or is it difficult because it was prophesied.

interesting. had a large number of birds drop dead in Austin, TX a number of years ago, all in the downtown area. turned out to be naegleria. all the birds shared a common water source so they all got sick. this is not some biblical event. its just nature. things like this have always happened, its just now we have the means to track it.

      @ Ms.Diaz...
If you really want to spread the word of god and bring people onboard with your beliefs then you should think twice about throwing around the word "jesus" so quickly. It makes you sound crazy and/or a religious fanatic. This is not an effective way to share your opinion with others and try to convince them you are right. Right off the bat when I read your comment I laughed...You give jesus a bad name and make him look silly doing it your way. Use more subtlety and finesse...No disrespect, just real advice.

That is the most logical, I think, Debbie. If it had been just one occurrance, I would agree with the 'nature' theory. However, with several such events happening so close together timewise, I think it is not logical to assume it's just a natural event. Even if the blackbirds had been shocked and disoriented, not ALL of them would have died.
IMO, the most logical explanation is some sort of bioterrorism. Just my opinion.

I've been following the story of the blackbirds since it was first reported on CNN. I watched a video of a reporter walking through a residential neighborhood showing single level houses and birds all over the ground. People reported the birds just fell from the sky. A few days later a report on CNN said that a loud noise scared the birds and that they flew into buildings which caused the blunt trauma killing them. That smelled of cover up if ever I've heard of a cover up...flew into buildings? There were no buildings in the residential neighborhood that the previous report showed, only single level houses, so if they flew into buildings, it would have to have been very low buildings and how do you account for birds on the roofs of these houses and eye witnesses saying they fell from the sky? I don't know what killed them but I sure don't believe the final report that says they flew into buildings. There's something fishy about that conclusion and that's what concerns me, why are officials lying about what killed these birds?

so by your comment, the residents of this residential neighborhood were living outdoors? Houses = buildings. I dont buy into reported reasons, but you sir bob, have taken the cake. if you are going to state an opinion, at least make sure that your facts are correct in your statement. Show me a neighborhod without buildings please.

One official even suggested that the birds flew into power lines. It's much easier to believe that we're not being told everything than to think the actual cause is some secret project. Too many people in power don't like to share information and don't think we have a right to it. They're more concerned with protecting their jobs than the population.

I agree Bob! I also think it is strange this is all seems to be happening on and around the same two weeks. First they site weather, then loud noises, then trauma. So why don't birds fall from the sky on July 4th? There are far more fireworks then. Also, every bird got disoriented at the same time all over the world and crashed into a building? As for disease why would every animal die at the same time? Every bird would get a disease and all die at the same exact moment? Even with disease there can be slow progression, then a build up. This sounds like poison but by who? So scary.

Another interesting thought is take the google map with all the locations and compare it and/or place it on top of a seismologist map that shows all the recent Earthquake tremors. Its incredible how the bird/fish deaths are almost in the exact locations as recent tremors, especially on the New Madrid Fault line. I'm not saying this is what is happening, but I will say that this comparision is uncanning and really makes you think. My opinion is no one knows exactly what is causing these events, it is all pure speculation – especially from the so called "experts".

i dont believe it has any religious implications, but thats just me. i think there is more behind this that maybe the govt isnt telling us. its easy to believe that this is the end, but i remember after the haiti and chile earthquakes last year, a little bit after this time, people were quoting the bible and saying the world was going to end last year because of all the big earthquakes that happened in a span of less than 3 months. what happened with that was cnn heavily reported on an earthquake that was above 5.0 in a lot of different areas in the world, but soon stopped. why? could it be that it was part of a news cycle? i mean, the earthquakes didnt stop happening last year did they? yet cnn didnt report them after a while as there was more important news. i believe that although the numbers for these events are large, i think each has its own explanation and isnt really tied to one another and after these kills sort of calm down i think cnn and other news agencies will stop reporting them, and im sure the kills will still be happening like they have before. there is a trend with the map, just look for it. this may just be a news cycle, but i dont know. that is my opinion

please dont assume what the truth is, search for the truth. sometimes you have to open your eyes to find what is really happening.
