Person of interest sought in Arizona mass shooting

Authorities are asking for the public's help to identify a person who is possibly associated with the suspect in Saturday's mass shooting in Arizona.

A gunman went to a town hall meeting at the Safeway supermarket in Tucson. Six people were killed and 12 others were wounded, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Early Sunday morning, investigators released a surveillance camera photo of a man who was seen at the location where the shooting occurred.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik told reporters Saturday that authorities were searching for a second individual who was a "person of interest" in the investigation.

He is described as a white male, approximately 40 to 50 years old. He has dark hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark blue jacket.

If you have any information about the individual, you are asked to contact 911, 88-CRIME or the Federal Bureau of Investigation at (520) 791-6974.

I know that guy! He lives next door to my home. I will be waiting for Secret Service and FBI agents to come to my home for questioning about him.

We see that there are surge of anti-Arizonians propaganda media news, especially recently events in Tucson. Obama wants to stir up Arizona because of various issues, including the immigrant law.

We wish that politicians show more openess and accountability for the American people. For example, Health care. We paid more than before while politicians receive generously financially supports by health care industries lobby. We never accept health care death panel for the American people. Lives are true precious values than greed!

Government needs to clean up their act and not worry so much about how much much they can make and stop taking care of just their voters..
If they do take away their guns they will learn to make bombs and then probably get away with these atrocities against man kind, I know there is some Americans who know how to make bombs but there isnt that many that do but as I said, take away their weapons then they will learn how to make them and they wont be for blowing up deer & Elk on the side of the road either.........If they want someone dead bad enough they will get dead or die trying.........

This tragedy is a direct result of the hateful discourse by Palin, Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, Tea Party, Right-wing Republicans, etc. Lock and load, revolution, and comments that their political opponents are trying to destroy America are all phrases used by these lunatics that incite hatred, violence, disrespect for the office of the President, and discrimination. God save the USA and the President from these Palin crazies. Pray for the Giffords, other victims of this attack on America, true American patriots, and for a return to respectful political discourse without personal attacks.

Rob, your comments are spot on. On meet the press this morning a newly appointed tea party congressman spoke to the Arizona issue. His response was so cavalier, as if nothing has changed and that the tea party sees no reason to temper their rhetoric. We should brace for more of the same.

Hey there, Kent Allard - Since when is the 'Communist Manifesto,' and 'Mein Kampf" RIGHT WING? They were the FAVORITE BOOKS of the GUNMAN.

You, like the other idiot LIE-berals here need to check your facts before you start spewing IGNORANCE. How about this quote about the gunman: "One user on Twitter, Caitie Parker, wrote she went to high school, college and was in a band with the gunman. She said she hadn't seen him since 2007.

Parker wrote of Lougher, "As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal and oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy."

She also described him as "more left."

    Typical LIES...typical LIE-beral!

"Two people tackled the suspected shooter, stopping a spray of bullets from what federal and state law enforcement sources described as a 9mm Glock outfitted with a 30-round magazine." – a tacklE saves the day, NOT ANOTHER GUN. \ STILL THINK GUNS ARE FUN?? EVER SEE THAT MOVIE WANTED? YEAH THAT IS NOT REAL, AND NEVER WILL BE. GET A CLUE, GET EVOLVED, AND REALIZE, BESIDES 3RD WORLD COUNTRIES, YOUR THE ONLY ONES DE-EVOLVED TO STILL ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!

The Glock 9mm Loughner allegedly used in the attack was, according to police, "legally obtained". I'm pretty sure it wasn't bought for hunting game animals...unless Loughner thinks society at large is loaded w/progressive, forward-thinking legislators whose only transgression was wanting input on the day's burning issues.

well if you think murderers in jail i'm sure most of them are blacks and mexicans etc...think about blood and cribs, they are usually blacks and other than white and almost everyone of them have killed someone..so there is lot of killers around walking free.

This suspect of interest looks like Charles Manson on furlough from the state pen to cover the congressional town hall with democrat Gabrielle Giffords. These people are the underbelly of society and sadly ALL are suspects of interest including Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, & Fox broadcasting!!!
