Pair describes taking down suspect in Arizona shooting

Dr. Steven Rayle, helped hold the Arizona gunman down and Patricia Maisch, grabbed the magazine cartridge.

The two were among others who risked their lives in the face of danger after suspect Jared Lee Loughner allegedly opened fire in a Safeway in Tuscon, Arizona. They spoke to CNN's Kiran Chetry about their harrowing experience.

"You just react," Maisch said about approaching the gunman. "You just do it."

How's that "watering the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots" going for ya? How's that taking back your government using your second amendment rights working out? Is illustrating maps using cross hairs for targets, producing your intended results?

Congrats Tea Party. You must be so proud of one of your own.

    • Sorry Suzanne

Sorry Suzanne - the killer hated Bush and listed the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf as his favorite books. Oh, and he shot a Republican Federal Judge. Doesn't quite fit the "tea party maniac on the loose" story, but why let the facts (mentally sick psycho obsessed with Giffords ever since she snubbed him during an event in 2007) get in the way of your hateful invective?

It was reportes this morning that REP:Gifford was being targeted for Assasisnation since 2007 by Loughner.that is way before the Tea Party.
Also. a former Classmate described him as a "Big LIB" and Pot Smoker.
How's the facts working out for ya!

Before you go pointing fingers, did it ever occur to you that there are just some very sick people out there? That act alone, not even close to understanding our government, officials or the tea party. Shame on you for pointing fingers at others instead of pointing them at the individual that did this absolutely horrible thing! His name is Jared Lee Loughner; I'm sure he'll get what he needs from our justice system.

I'm sure Jared regrets what he did by now. We need to learn to have patience and be open-minded about situations like this. Someone needs to sit down with the young man to find out the cause of his rage to help prevent problems like this. He was clearly agitated about something.

not making light of the tragedy at hand, but if you are a news agency........ MAKE SURE YOU SPELL TUCSON correctly. once misspelled, could be an error, but twice and consistantly......... then the person or editor needs to look for a new job out of journalism and spelling.

If you all look at this guys mug shot photo does'nt he look like (UNCLE FESTER) on the orginal show " The Adam's Family" cracks me up!!! But what really gets me, is why the people that took him down did'nt save the taxpayers alot of money in court costs, lawyers fees and possible life without parole term and just kill the dude... I for one don't want to support this nut for the rest of his life, this will cost the citizens of the country an estimated $100,000 dollars per month for as long as he lives... This I think is a total waste of my money! Just do the dude and get it over with already, besides he took several lives and destroyed the lives of maney others... Just kill the guy and forget him. My persomal thoughts only... *Wayne*

This is what America has come to, everybody is so worried about another terrorist attack that they are going nuts. The government and the media needs to quit harpping on it so much and people would settle down alittle... We let our guard down and a bad thing happened,9/11. Learn from it and move on. We need to bring our troops home and start SECURING our own borders!!! Bring them home and let these other countries woory about their own problems... If the government would use our military to keep our nation safe from crazy people from other places, the American people would'nt be so worried things. While we are protecting and fighting in other countries, our own country is being over-ran by god knows who and that scares people... Look people we have a serious problem at our own border with Mexico. Ther are millions of people from every corner of the world coming into OUR country through the mexican border that we are being pushed out of our own country!!! If you all think for a minute that it's only mexicans coming in, then you are dead wrong!!! We need to force our gov to bring our troops home and start cleaning out this country.. And to hell with other countries and their issues!!! If this would happen, the people of America would be alot less crazy with worry. So, BRING OUR TROOPS HOME AND CLEAN UP THE MESS HERE. Oh, and the mexican gov knows exactly what it is doing, they are making money by letting these people enter the US. Don't think they are'nt!!! *REMEMBER THE ALAMO*. Wayne
