Accused shooter's poems evoke his daily routine, scenes from Mauritius

Jared Lee Loughner, the man accused of shooting 20 people Saturday at an Arizona political event, attended a poetry class last year at Pima County Community College, a man in the class said.

Student Don Coorough provided CNN's Special Investigations Unit with copies of two poems purportedly written by Loughner for the spring semester class. They have been transcribed below with the same spelling and line breaks as the original copies.

Meat Head

Awaking on the first day of school
Pain of a morning hang over
Attending a weight lifting class for college credit
Attempting to exercise since freshman year of high school
Crawling out of bed and walking to the shower
Warm water hitting my back
Eureka

Thoughts of being promiscuous with a female again
Putting on a old medium red tee shirt, light brown cameo shorts, and black Adidas
For breakfast a glass of water, cold pepperoni pizza, and two Advil
Bringing my Nano Ipod with heavy metal music
Taking the local bus on a overcast morning
Waiting with crack heads after their nightly binge
Bus is cheap, two dollars for a ride anywhere in the city
Sitting in back against a hard plastic seat
Staring at stop lights, brand new cars, and graffiti
Coming to a slow halt in front of the school
Entering the gym as the glowing florescent lights are humming
Next to the treadmills, putting a green foam mat on the ground
Stretching for fifteen minutes, loosening the muscles in my legs, back and arms
Cleaning the mat with anti-bacterial spray and a paper towel
Jogging for ten minutes, my heart beating, beating, beating
Pain in my right side of the last minute of twenty
Looking around, the cute women are catching my eye
Probably waiting for their hot boyfriends wandering in the locker room
All the men are in shape with their new white tank shirts, basketball short, and Nike shoes
Confusing look on my face of no idea what to do
Deciding to copy other men's routines of
Arm Curls, Leg presses, Rows, Squats, Military something's, and Isolated whatever's
65 minutes
Leaving the gym thinking
Waiting for the bus with alcoholics that are going to the bars early
Coming home for another shower
While grabbing the white towel, the eureka moment is lingering
Quick nap and lunch is on my mind
Setting the alarm one hour before getting ready for my next class
Getting into bed

Falling asleep

Dead as a dodo

On the island of Mauritius a heavy storm is leaving.
In the fields of the ancient wild forest a wild field of mushrooms is growing.
Snails and grasshoppers are ready for the warmth.
The old grass growing with lizards are jolting for crickets while snakes looking for lonely mice.
Falcons are flying for pray.
Shallow light Blue Ocean shimmering at each wave as the black clouds are rolling.
Waves are lapping.
Fisherman on the reefs are casting their poles.
In warm water a pack of clown fish are floating.
Tiger sharks are swimming free.
Steel drums beating in the distance.
The full moon slowly setting for the sun is rising.
At the local cemetery there is weeping.
The dodo is finally dieing.

Yea, guess who is they call the sick guy here. The obedient pupil. Sickness has lost its meaning in this country. Sick Presidents make sick citizens and JJL is just a tiniest sample.
Obama's poem start like that: knife fight knife fight gun bum gun bum, then, fight knife bum boom boom boom , gun woon.
Sounds a bit swahili but effective really. Apart of Gifford all the other ones innocent did not read the poem.
Poem is good, and sometimes, bad.

Some here religiosocialist are having anticipated feelings of that nuthead in the slammer and the big problem facing him bla bla bla. First these weird premises were built to be filled with those like him because they exist and lots of them, second they are the type live or leave your block of which they become part and fit in nicely given that they get new mentors and befriend a lot of the similar type who are convinced they were made alien to what we think is convenient to us and they are in a Mars type colony. These weirdos are not that repentant and strive to fit in that surrounding otherwise they would have sliced their wrists long ago and the jails would be empty. We live in an abnormal world and society and we just strive to be different to those with some weird choices. Surely we are not happy just to work and pay taxes or even pray every morning not to be hit by stray bullet or a bus going to the corner store but we adjust our routines to efforts and fate etc etc. At the end we don't know what our future is and what we will have for lunch tomorrow but they know and are settled with it and can't be bothered with the outside life. So it seems we live on the wrong planet not them. Our anomalies suit us and their normal life suit them. Who is complaining?

To all you litte callous curmudgeons posting what's on your insignificant little brains: What he did was horrible, but he is still a person and needs to be treated as such..I doubt if he were your brother/father/cousin or friend that you would be bashing him with such harsh words..be honest people..if you had a son that killed someone, would you really be saying "burn that SOB alive" or "I hope he rots in hell" NO! You wouldn't. So let the justice system do its job and mind your own business!! Oh and leave the mans poetry alone, all of you have a hobby, sport or interest that you take part in and completely suck at and you don't see the whole world calling you out on it!

Unfortunately Jairo, most people in this country have forgotten basic human compassion which is why our country is where it is at today. Perhaps if everyone practiced a lot more compassion and love for their fellow human beings, we wouldn't even have to comment on this person. Where's the story on that?

What a dumb article – and nice journalism – "poems evoke his daily routine" – you have no idea if this was his daily routine – it is called logic and reasoning, and you seem to not display it on this one CNN

I am so tired of all of this. Every day people are shot and killed. Every single day violence happens. But when a member of our aristocratic class is shot, then suddenly we pay attention.

The violence needs to stop, no matter who is the victim. If you read in the newspaper about a little girl being killed in the ghetto in the crossfire of gang wars, and you just think "that's too bad, well, time to go to work", forgetting about the whole event when by the time you get home, why do we remember every single detail of Christina Greene with her image burned into our collective psyche? Why has her association with a senator made her death any more tragic?

Want quick, safe, and permanent results without having to rely on things like dangerous steroids, pills, powers, or potions, or even crazy hours in the gym? I'm going to give you the solution that will do just that. The solution I'm going to give you has many guys packing on that kind of lean muscle I'm talking about while actually shedding the unsightly lower abdomen fat at the same time, which is completely unheard of (until now). If you are serious about building lean muscle without fat, this will be the most useful and powerful information you will ever get. It's not in the supplements. It's all in the diet! Your nutrition is the most important factor in getting the lean muscle you deserve.

One thing we all need, along with the body to stay in motion is the right mind-set. We really need to start with this and check it often as we grow. It is good to get to the gym or work-out at home, but with out the right drive or motivation, ie mind-set we may aboard the point of the action. Keep up the great work

An interesting discussion is definitely worth comment. I do think that you need to write more on this subject matter, it might not be a taboo subject but generally folks don't discuss such issues. To the next! Kind regards!!
