   The end indeed is nearer, Brazil – floods, Australia – floods, Philippines – floods, India – stampede, Pakistan – Floods + Bomb-blasts, + Shootings + now Earthquakes, Afghanistan – bomb-blasts, Russia – plane crash, China – floods, mud-slides, Europe – Floods + heavy snowfall, US – few shootings here and there with 3-4 dead. If this doesn't end everything completely, sooner or later some or the other tensions between some desperate nations is going to rise like N-S Korea, Iran, India-Pakistan, Turkey, etc.

   I am in delhi and it has been felt here , we are in office and we quickly mooved out.
   I would pray to god ..No innocent should have been killed in this quake...
   N i would pray that all terrorist should have been killed in it.

   On one hand these I pray for those who are innocent and the children etc....on the other hand America should have no part in aiding them, as one commenter already stated WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN FIRST. Why can't another country step in and take charge, America has done enough and we need to repair our failing system before we help others...think of the starving homeless children in this country

      In all due respect to their religions (or varying degrees of it) and their culture,this act of God must have punished many of the radicals in those parts. Now I just hope we can find Bin Laden crushed under the rubble, but still alive so he can be brought to trial for his thousands of murders so can be shamed before the world and then hung for his crimes.

    Wonder if it's true that when there is earthquake activity on one side of the globe there is another quake on the corresponding side. There was an earthquake on Dec 30th 2010 a 3.8 in North Central Indiana. Also, they had an earthquake Nov 30th on Long Island. Was the USGS waiting for a potential bigger earthquake somewhere in the middle east, asia??

      not quite, the earth's core blocks the shockwave. i believe there can be corresponding earthquakes at a certain angle from the originating quake, however, from shockwaves not blocked by the core. yay 5th grade science at work hahahaha

      the opposite side of the earth from Pakistan is somewhere in the middle of the South Pacific. Remember they are also in the northern hemisphere so the opposite side of that would be in the southern hemisphere, not somewhere in the US. Geography is fun, you should try it.

      @Wisetime, How about N.America, Europe, and S.America? Oh I got it, no such earthquake for those areas that habitate by White people. I thought Middle Easterns are White people too? In accordance to science, Middle East people are clearly White people. Well, let me tell you there are NO such place are pure anymore. There white people live in Middle East, Asia and Africa.

      Kenji- I'm thinking about the Vocanic activities on Mt Etna Sicily, Kizimen in Russia and Manam in Northeast New Guinea.
      I also believe the miles from the Us to Pakistan is about 7300 milea which would create the angle your talking about. But I see what your saying about the earth's core. I'm thinking more about plate tectonics affecting all these activities.

I'm talking about the one plate activity creating a domino effect. Gee JACK you really should try some prayer or meditation for that anger issue.       Yes Luke I do like Geography but work, raising kids and concentrating on medicine through Nursing has prevented me from making Geography a hobby. Thanks for the Education. I forgot about the Northern vs Southern hemispheres. I just see alot of activity we should be paying more attention to. We do reside on a living planet, so far. Makes us feel a little miniscule, doesn't it?
