@butthenagain – have you personally been extorted? has a cop put a gun to your head and taken your money? i doubt it... again i have to say i think the vast majority of this country watches way too much television and sees way too many michael bay explosion-a-thons. yeah, we live in a violent society and yeah, there's certainly corrupt cops out there, but too pigeonhole the majority of cops as these robbing, maniacal bloodletters is just completely absurd. cops are just regular men and women who have the stones most of us dont have to take a stand in a country in shambles. you want to talk about corruption, talk about the federal goverment or wall street...

Ohh I admit that cops are the lowest on the totem poll of corruption, but you say to talk about the federal gov't. In a sense, I am. you say that cops are regular people that have the stones it takes to stand in a country in shambles? Is it really that far of a stretch to think that maybe they have caused some of it? but that's neither here nor there, I would love to talk about the corruption at the fed level as it relates to this story, but wait, the FEDS didn't have anything to do with the serving of the FEDERAL warrant.

Couldn't have said this better myself. As a wife of a police officer, it saddens me to see all these negative posts and lumping all police officers together. My husband works in one of the roughest areas in the DC metro area and I have to say he loves what he does, but I would never want to be in his shoes. Hearing people talk like this, saddens me to think that hard working men and women get lumped in with bad apples. Thanks for posting this.

If they we serving a warrant for drugs the government is to blame. When will this country learn that you can not govern what one does with their own bodies.

The VAST majority of cops serve with the public with dignity and respect. This article told us little about the incident. All we know is that people were shot (one killed) in service to their country. Please keep them and theirs in your thoughts and prayers.

Sad story. Even sadder is the hate-laced "rhetoric" spouted here. 3 people died suddenly and tragically today, leaving behind family and friends, and all that is being said is that they deserved it. What a callous, cynical world in which we live!

Sad sad story. The actual story, is they were serving a warrant on a murder suspect. Today LE lost two good officers and our community lost two people willing to serve and protect. Sad and my prayers are with the families of these officers. One female officer and One male officer are deceased.

I think I will send your post to my congressman as an example of why we need to secure our borders and deport illegals. So tell me, are you saying that the Miami Dade Latinos are proud to be cop killers? Just want to get this straight.
