Magnitude 5.6 earthquake strikes Chile

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Chile at 1:11 p.m. (11:11 a.m. ET) Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The quake, centered about 90 kilometers (55 miles) south-southwest of Concepcion, was 13.7 kilometers (8.5 miles) below the surface, the USGS said.

A magnitude 7.1 quake struck 100 miles south of Concepcion on January 2, and a magnitude 8.8 quake struck near the city a year ago, killing hundreds.

    @Jose Rosa...ya know? yer the first person to mention the most devastating pandemic to ever hit mankind in weeks! We hear more about celebrity tatoos than we do about AIDS! How will global warming affect this virus? I do not know. But I will find out if mean temperatures help or hinder this nastly little virus that now plagues us all, and will share what i find. Haven't seen you here before, so welcome! And I appreciate your using a real name. 🙂

    @Brian...There are dozens of ancient Mayan calandars. Only one of them ends at 2012. Answer me this: why did you, Brian, choose to focus on this one single calandar?
