Magnitude 6.8 earthquake strikes coast of Chile

[Update 4:50 p.m.] The USGS has revised the magnitude of the earthquake the struck off the coast of  Chile on Friday to 6.8.

A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Friday afternoon off the coast of Chile, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The estimated epicenter was 69 kilometers (43 miles) from the Chilean city of Concepcion.

    fue muy fuerte el sismo....ami me dio mucho susto....pense que se nos venia otro terremoto ...mucha gente se desespero pero lo bueno es que no paso nada grave aunque todavia no deja de moverse la tierra...como chilena agradesco la preocupacion por nuestro pueblo

    'IMA Sarahpalinfanatic'...first of all, our presidents aren't 'crowned'...since we are not a monarchy...they're voted in and inaugurated, second, that would never happen because most of the citizens of our great country still use their brains to process thoughts and reason! What makes you think our country will survive with someone like Palin running it? Wow...

    They have had five earthquakes in the last 3-days.
    Sign-up for emailed quake reports at the USGS site. You pick what areas you want and you set what magnitude you want to be notified at.
