I think that Chile is one of the few places on earth that there are no casualties nor injured because of an 7.0 earthquake. People is evacuating to high grounds even though there's no tsunami alert.
Most of the info that we are getting are from the USGS not from the Chilean government.

True, but a tsunami alert is important for Chile's coast and other countries coasts.

I had to use the search function to find this? It was a breaking news alert 45 minutes ago, and now it's not found on the front page? Or am I going blind?

And speaking of earthquake news disappearing, how come we never heard more about that huge earthquake on the Afghan/Pakistan border? Makes me think that something else was going on there.

You have to go to the 'This Just In' blog section after the Breaking News alert, CNN usually links the alert to this blog but this time it didn't, maybe they're busy with the Egyptian Revolution headlines.

The 2011 Pakistan Earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 that occurred January 19, 2011 at 1:23 am local time, caused no severe damage or great loss of life, only 2 women were reported dying of heart attacks after the quake struck (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Pakistan_earthquake), there was no follow up by CNN or other news networks due to the low damage and loss of life.

You hope there was "no loss of life", seriously? People die every day, it's an earthquake! Get with the real world people! *OMG*, what planet do you guys live on? It's an earthquake, people died, property was destroyed.

I don't know, you people are just insane.

The 2011 Pakistan Earthquake only caused 2 indirect deaths and it was a 7.2 magnitude quake similar to this one. Only because an earthquake of this magnitude strikes anywhere in the planet doesn't mean there has to be deaths or mass destruction, you're the one that has to "Get with the real world people!", it looks like you know nothing about earthquakes, geology and its effects.

Now if we can just organize a TeaParty revolt we can shut down a 1/4 of the U.S. For 60 days and then we can crown Sarah Palin our President BY FORCE !!!

Back in the 1960's, I was standing right under the arch of our hallway, when the Earth shifted, twice, with slight vibration. I found out later, on the News; that was a 6.0 Richter scale earthquake, in S.Jersey. No one scarcely noticed, and no injuries. So, it's possible there is little damage. But they're right to head for the hills. Namaste!
