Fifty-three dead in 3 days in Ciudad Juarez, official says

Fifty-three people were killed in a 72-hour span in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, making it one of the deadliest three-day periods in recent memory, state attorney general's office spokesman Arturo Sandoval told CNN Sunday.

Among the dead were four police officers from three different agencies, Sandoval said.

"This is the worst violence we've seen this year," he said, referring to the three days from Thursday through Saturday.

Ok, I think there are three groups of people to blame for all the unfortunate mess in Mexico. First, the drug cartels themselves, they do the killing with their AK-47s. Second to blame is Felipe Calderon, and all his corrupt and inefficient advisers. And third, the drug thirsty Americans who make drug trafficking such a profitable business. Agree, drugs need to be legalized in the US, all of them.

Enough of all this garbage. It is time for a new reality on the border. All these cartel run border towns have to go. It is time for a new 38th parallel (Iike Korea). Force the Mexican government to start being a part of this (we send them hundreds of millions in aid every year). Shut down and remove all border towns, seriously, scorch the earth in that area via Mexican and American forces as needed. No excuse for the greed that is driving the entire region. Force the Mexican government to actually make an effort on this front. Enforce, by both countries, a 1 or 2 mile wide neutral zone. If the Mexican government won't, stop all aid to them immediately (should have been done years ago).

Don't worry. Janet N. has provided us border security like no other. A mouse couldn't cross our border without being detected and caught by Janet.

    We're doomed !

You do know Juarez is just one city in Mexico out of thousands right? Thats like saying shut off the U.S. from Canada because of violence from New York or Chicago (incidently had over 600 murders one year).
