Fifty-three people were killed in a 72-hour span in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, making it one of the deadliest three-day periods in recent memory, state attorney general's office spokesman Arturo Sandoval told CNN Sunday.
Among the dead were four police officers from three different agencies, Sandoval said.
"This is the worst violence we've seen this year," he said, referring to the three days from Thursday through Saturday.

VIVA MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!
is that Micah or is that that short for My Uncle?
Ciudad Juarez...El Detroit Del Norte. Who cares? Maybe mariachi music will be the new Motown.
is there any way to buy some stock in the casket making companies down there?
I didn't know there were 53 people left in Juarez to be killed.
Step by step they're crossing the Border and WE are doing nothing !!!
What is this we stuff? It appears to me that our current clueless President, who has failed to ever even get close to the Mexican border, is the problem. His total denial and nonparticipation of defending the United States against enemies both foreign and domestic, as he swore to do, is severely lacking. Maybe Janet Nappyheadedho has his ear and is so stupid that she thinks she will find terrorists in our shoes of in a water bottle at the airport while they calmly walk across the Rio Grande ready to attack us from within. Our government is a complete disaster and should be ashamed of itself.
Legalizing pot isnt the answer. they will still kill eachother! This is how they make a living, if it legal noone will go to them to get it anymore. then they will have to get a real job, which are few and far between now as we all know. and i dont think this has anything to do with pot. people dont kill that often ofer a joint, theyre killing for stronger drugs, cocaine and such. and mexico isnt the only place this is happening. drugs and violence is everywhere and you cant blame it on one country or government. its a personal choice everyone makes. There is no end in sight. untill drugs and weapons are no longer here for one to use on himself or others, it will never end.
YEP TheDude is pretty much correct. Legalize them all and keep a close eye on your kids. It won't take long and most of them would be gone. the market would be gone as would most of the mexicans (no market to sell too) In the meantime we would eliminate the war on drugs and people.
Rowdy
53 people dead in the city in 3 days, but it only merits a tiny little article like this? Who says American media doesn't care about what goes on in Mexico? After all, they ignored the hundreds of women killed by a serial killer in the Juarez area for years... and it is still happening.

I got a $829 iPad 3G Wifi 64GB for $87.23 and my brother grabbed a $737 Samsung bluray theater system for only $51.92 and both are to be delivered to our house by tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at walmart or bestbuy. I sold a 37" LCD HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for. I use two sites, both are good. SwipeBay.com

I hope everyone realizes there was many more dead than just 53, that's only the numbers we see here but not reality, so sad our world is going in this direction
This is a surprise???
Here in Juárez we live in fear while Carlos Slim gets richer! Some country!
