Video purportedly shows slain Libyan soldiers who refused orders

Video has been posted on YouTube of what CNN is told are six badly burned bodies of Libyan soldiers in open body bags.

The video, taken on a cell phone, was posted on Monday. It is not known when it was taken. Opposition sources in Libya say the bodies are of soldiers who refused to shoot at anti-government demonstrators.

The video, which is just over a minute long, shows a crowd gathered around the bodies. With sirens wailing in the background, the person with the camera pushes through the crowd to the bodies laid out in a line, charred beyond recognition. The sources say many more bodies were found in an adjacent military barracks. CNN staff say the accents heard on the video are North African. It has not been possible for CNN to otherwise independently verify the video.

Warning: Due to the graphic nature of this video, viewer discretion is advised.

Spirit of Freedom........Yup, these killers are friends of Israel's and the USA. And so is Iran, Somalia, al qaeda, etc. I know that Saudi Arabia is especially good friends with Israel. Why just the other day the 2 countries got together for some lox and bagels, which is a particularly favorite of the Saudis. And who can doubt that Libya and Israel are close friends? I can feel the love. BTW moron, how many Muslims were killed by other Muslims in the last 48 hours anyway? The last week? The last month? The last year? Can you even count that high?

I admired CNNs coverage of the unrests in Tunisia and Egypt, but now that they are not allowed to send journalists into Libya they talk the whole day about how the rising oil prices affect "us poor people in Europe and the US", because they don't have any new information or footage. It seems so out of place while literally at the same time people get shot by gunships.

You really think CNN doesn't have a politcal agenda? Are you blind? I don't think this story is based on any political agenda, but TONS of their other stories ARE. The frequency with which certain topics are highlighted make it painfully obvious that they have an agenda, and that's before you see how non-biased the articles themselves are.

      Quoting an article...

atching Fox News leaves viewers less informed and more prone to believing misinformation, according to a study conducted by the WorldPublicOpinion.org at the University of Maryland.

While regular consumers of news were found to be more informed on issues surrounding the 2010 Senate elections, daily Fox viewers were significantly more likely to believe incorrect information on the economy, climate change and whether or not U.S. President Barack Obama was born in America.

“We found that those who watch Fox nearly every day, compared to those who never or only watch it a little, are more likely to believe some pieces of misinformation that circulated during the recent election campaign,” said Clay Ramsay, research director at WorldPublicOpinion.org

I bet you are all against the war in Iraq too. He wasn't a bad dictator right (Saddam). The difference between Saddam and the burned bodies in these stories, is that Saddam's son just ran them through the wood chipper instead of burning them. If you're this concerned with the accuracy of CNN's reports, why aren't you simply getting your news from a different source? CNN does its best to provide America with rapid, accurate coverage. Whether the video is of civilians or soldiers, CNN is ensuring that we are aware of what is going on. Yes, there are opinion pieces and articles written with more of a bias, but when it comes to reports like this, I see absolutely no bias whatsoever. They've tried the best they can to provide us with news.

All those who complain CNN has a political agenda indeed have a political agenda themselves: The neutral news reported buy CNN have negative effect on their political view and they cannot stand it. Compare to Fox, which is blatantly bias, and unshamefully lying/bending the truth, CNN is the standard of neutral, which is the exact reason they cannot stand it. These people desperately need winning argument for their losing political view.

Rulers of these countries are absolute thugs... So was Rumsfeld & Bush. The world should make these greedy thugs aware that their days in control are numbered.

Tens of thousands of U.S. citizens (our soldiers) are dead. Hundreds of thousands are injured in horrific ways, hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraquis are dead at our government hands. And Rumsfeld just announced if they had known there were no WMD that they probably would not have entered the war! They forced us into this war which destroyed our economy as well.

All leaders who are there because of greed need to be held accountable including the U.S. CEO's who rob this country blind.

If kids knew what being president meant, fools blaming them for things they couldn't control or done behind their back and wanting them to be killed for it? Heck you couldn't force people to be president.

BTW anyone with a brain, if you find WMD you don't tell the media...guess why? Cause they tell the world the exact location of WMD and guess what happens then? If you can't, don't vote or breed. Keep watching TV and don't leave the house. It's all your good for.

WMD's weren't found, there never were WMDs, and one of the apparent inside sources for Bush said the chemical weapons that were found were lies. If WMDs were found in Iraq, every media outlet in the world would have found out. Not exactly a country that has Delta commandos that are never heard of. Bush and co. were told by sources they found reasonable there were WMDs. They took an unnecessary action, and we're finally getting out of Iraq 8 years later. But those guys were just figureheads for the corporations. Oil was the motivation, and Cheney got his way. This nation is run by money now, not government. Scary truth

Whether or not they can maintain their freedom and establish functional reforms that will protect it or will it degenerate into into chaos that results in islamic fundamentalism is at this point an unanswered question.

The youth want a world of equality, opportunity, and fairness. The 60's turmoil in the USA by the young activists ended the obscene Vietnam war. We are now seeing this in oppressed countries throughout the world. Challenge the establishment, make your voice be heard. World change is now, so be prepared for a new world.
