Video purportedly shows slain Libyan soldiers who refused orders

Video has been posted on YouTube of what CNN is told are six badly burned bodies of Libyan soldiers in open body bags.

The video, taken on a cell phone, was posted on Monday. It is not known when it was taken. Opposition sources in Libya say the bodies are of soldiers who refused to shoot at anti-government demonstrators.

The video, which is just over a minute long, shows a crowd gathered around the bodies. With sirens wailing in the background, the person with the camera pushes through the crowd to the bodies laid out in a line, charred beyond recognition. The sources say many more bodies were found in an adjacent military barracks. CNN staff say the accents heard on the video are North African. It has not been possible for CNN to otherwise independently verify the video.

Warning: Due to the graphic nature of this video, viewer discretion is advised.

The USA is the worlds humanitarian bankroll even though we have our own economic problems. We deserve and should be applauded for also being the worlds police force and maybe we are correct in meddling in other countries governments. It's about time the citizens of these radical middle eastern countries realize who the 'evil ones' really are.

As you point out wuf we have problems with our own country, economic being just one...which probably means we shouldn't be meddling in other countries governments.

wuf, i hope you don't really believe that. Our "foreign aid" is always aimed at protecting our own interests in various parts of the world, and the "world's police force" theory died with the end of dubya's administration. It is delusional and dangerous.

There is no glory in war, no honor in death. Only remorse and pain and mortal bodies let to rot.

GHADHAFI'S FAVORED SON–THIS IS TO YOU!

YOU KNOW WESTERN DEMOCRACY, MORE IMPORTANTLY YOU KNOW HUMAN RIGHTS.

STAND UP TO YOUR FATHER AND STOP THE RAMPANT KILLING OF YOUR OWN PEOPLE IMMEDIANTLY.

OTHERWISE THE WAY THE WORLD WILL SHUN YOU WILL BE BUT A SPECK IN THE WIND COMPARED TO HOW GODHEAD WILL TURN HIS BACK FROM YOUR IMMORTAL SOUL.
IF YOU DO NOT ACT IT IS ON YOUR SHOULDERS AND YOUR PAIN AND YOUR SHAME WILL LAST INTO ETERNITY.

In CNN's defense, they said that this is just something they picked up from Utube. Maybe they were expecting that the viewer could form their own opinion. As far as being an idiot goes...well...that is someone with a mental age of less than three years old, which I imagine would preclude anyone that made a comment here.

So Ghaddafi could have just left office like Mubarak, and spent the rest of his life living in a palace, but instead decided that he wants to be brought before a tribunal and charged with "crimes against humanity" instead. Hopefully for him, he ends it like Hitler ended it in his bunker, because I doubt his judges will show him much mercy.

Hey CNN! We don't like Gaddafi, but this does not mean you have to show burn bodies. This is not appropriate. Once Al-Jazeera showed US soldiers bodies in Iraq, and there was outrage. If you have to spread sensation, please keep in limits.

I think it's perfectly appropriate and I actually respect them more now. Plus they warned the reader of the images' nature and viewer discretion was advised -you didn't have to see the images if you didn't want to.
