Death penalty for woman convicted in vigilante killings

Jurors in Arizona decided Tuesday on the death penalty as the punishment for anti-illegal immigration activist Shawna Forde (pictured), who was convicted of killing a Latino man and his 9-year-old daughter during a vigilante raid, a
court spokeswoman said.

hey and i just want to say that it sounds really stupid to call this woman a vigilante when she is a murderer, and a child murderer on top of that lets get real folks.

And justice is served. This woman is a monster. She has no business doing extra-judicial killing and she murdered an innocent child to boot. They should execute her ASAP and do not allow any delays.

People applauding the death of someone else are just as monstrous as the monstrous act that brought about this woman's fate. Where is your humanity. Nevermind, it's a rhetorical question.

So, which "god" is your nation under? I'm guessing not the one who said turn the other cheek, love your enemy, etc. Why don't you leave vengeance to your god or do you presume to know better than the one you claim to worship? Nevermind, rhetorical.

as far as i know she hasn't had any remorse or asked for forgiveness. in which case, "there shall be no mercy for them who have shown no mercy".

I work in immigrant and just had a discussion about this. I'm no fan of the death penalty, but I also never felt so supportive of it as I do right now. I'm so torn about this!

Amen, Lindsay! Life imprisonment is sufficiently severe, perhaps more so since the perpetrator will have to deal with the consequences for far longer than the couple of minutes or seconds they have in pain during execution. Also, I wholeheartedly agree with you that Jesus wouldn't want the death penalty to be inflicted by anyone other than God. John 8:7 says "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." This means that only those without sin (of which we are all guilty) can be executioners, meaning that no human being should ever put to death their fellow human being.

When a living being dies there muscles relax and they release all of their feces. Look at that VERY YOUNG and VERY LOVLEY GIRL that this woman murded in cold blood point blank. IMAGINE her lifeless cold blue body with blood pooring out of the bullet holes.. Think of the disgusting mess. DO YOU HAVE KIDS WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE THEM LIKE THAT dont answer thats just a rhetorical question...

I am not sure that killing more people is the solution. But, that is what our society seems to want. Civilized?

U can't have it both ways. Preach hate and an eye for an eye zero humanity. AND then ask where is the humanity?

Great. NOW she's just another socialist freeloader taking advantage of our cushy prison system's delay and defense against the death penalty, eating taxpayer-funded food all day, enjoying taxpayer-funded recreation and security to keep her from harm.

I don't like the death penalty, but I do like that some in AZ are able to see nut cases for the danger that they are.

Put this lady on death row and send illegals politely back to their country so they can try again. Preferably the legal way. It's really not that hard. (Think work visa) The U.S. can take a tip from Mexico and start sending our convicts across the border to freedom. We could do one better and send our extreme Liberals and Conservatives elsewhere as well. It's unfortunate that other countries would likely have enough sense to not take them. It's ok for other countries to deny immigration right?

I fully expect that the reader comments for this story will be full of rational, sober, thoughtfully articulated insights. At no time will it devolve into insane, frothing invective and irrelevant commentary about various political, media, and literary figures who have nothing whatsoever to do with the story.
